Robotic ‘ plug and weld ’ solution at MACH 2024

Pemamek showcased its compact robotic welding station , PEMA Skytrack , at the MACH exhibition in Birmingham , UK , this April . The PEMA Skytrack station integrates robotics , intelligent software and advanced welding technology .
“ Robotic welding offers a solution to challenges in production where many companies are struggling to find talented welders / workforce and goals for productivity and efficiency are high . A well-designed robotic welding system increases safety and quality and enhances a company ’ s competitiveness ,” explained Pemamek .
“ Our PEMA robot station is designed to bring improvements and efficiency to heavy manufacturing processes . All welds are
designed in PEMA WeldControl for smooth and easy programming of the welds ,” it added .
All the company ’ s robotic welding solutions are custom-made to fit production and specific needs . PEMA Skytrack is an advanced robotic welding station designed to optimise welding processes across various industries . With a small factory footprint , and two-ton payload , it can be rapidly installed and integrated into production routines for “ plug and weld .”
“ Robotic welding increases productivity and flexibility in production . One PEMA welding robot typically does the job of three-five welders . The welder becomes an operator and can perform multiple welds at the same time ,” concluded Pemamek . n pemamek . com

Carfulan Group debuts new technologies

Carfulan Group , which has seen sales soar to £ 20m this year , showcased more than £ 1m of new technology at MACH 2024 ( 15-19 April 2024 ) including the unveiling of multi-sensor measurement solutions .
OGP UK , the Carfulan Group ’ s multi-sensor measurement system specialist , launched three new multi-sensor measurement systems : the Fusion 400 , the Shapegrabber Ai620 and the E-Series E7 , for precise industrial quality control measurements .
It was joined on Stand 320 by ZOLLER UK , adding to its tool presetting range by taking the wraps off a new advanced heat-shrinking solution : the powerShrink . This innovation is designed to provide high-level rotational accuracy , long tool life and reduced tooling costs , preparing tools for production in under a minute .
The Carfulan Group ’ s 3D printing company , SYS Systems , showcased a range of its 3D printing technologies , including the Stratasys F900 3D printer .
“ Alongside four new machines , our new dedicated software company , Prolink UK , also made its debut at MACH . It demonstrated how real-time data monitoring , automated reporting and shopfloor integration can empower manufacturers to increase productivity ,” confirmed the Carlufan Group .
VICIVISION UK , which produces noncontact measurement systems , featured the Techno M614 designed for precision inspection of complex components as well as the PRIMA 306 , an optical measurement system for turned parts . It also unveiled its shopfloor measurement devices : the Metrios Cross and Metrios Cross HD . These machines are built for rapid inspections directly on the shopfloor . n

Laser scanning in focus

XL SCAN set-up in Turner Laser Systems ’ laser laboratory .
SCANLAB ’ s XL SCAN , which was jointly developed with ACS Motion Control , processes workpieces of “ practically unlimited size ” by synchronously combining a 2D scan head with an XY positioning stage ( where the scanner and stages are continuously moving during laser processing ).
Its latest integration partner , based in Silicon Valley , is Turner Laser Systems which provides turnkey customisable machines and process development services in the United States .
“ The XL SCAN solution can improve feature resolution and throughput of micromachining of larger-sized parts by synchronously controlling a 2D scan head and two-axis XY stage motion . It provides precision within a virtually limitless working area , which is a key feature for various applications in electronics manufacturing ,” highlighted SCANLAB .
All partners base their service offer on the technology partnership with ACS Motion Control and the software provider , Direct Machining Control ( DMC ).
SCANLAB GmbH is an independent OEM manufacturer of scanning solutions for deflecting and positioning laser beams in three dimensions . At the company ’ s headquarters in Puchheim ( near Munich , Germany ), around 500 employees work on continuous innovation and a production capacity of over 40,000 systems per year . Its main R & D and manufacturing site is also based in Puchheim . n www . scanlab . de / en /
