Flexible forming
Equipped with an innovative nine-point support design , a highly rigid ring frame , zero-clearance slide gibs and the freely programmable servo motion of the AIDA DSF ® – Direct Servo Former technology , AIDA DSF-U presses are designed for high performance .
The slide does not move laterally during forming for greater flexibility of forming .
“ With its single-crank design , DSF-U presses enable transfer forming , progressive forming and multi-stage cold forging . The overall height has been reduced by 30 % by eliminating the connecting rods that had once been considered essential components of crank presses ,” explained AIDA .
The DSF-U series include a newly developed energysaving hydraulic power unit equipped with a flywheel .
“ Multi-stage knockout functionality can be accommodated by mounting hydraulic cylinders in the bed on the left and right that actuate a central knockout bar . Basic operations can be performed from a central location at the front of the press , including confirmation of the crank angle , die height settings and load monitoring during forming ,” added the Italian press specialist .
The DSF-U Series is available in multiple configurations of up to 25000kN . AIDA provides a wide range of options for DSF-U presses to meet the detailed requirements of its customers . n

CY-LASER specialises in the production of fibre laser cutting and welding systems . The Italian manufacturer will exhibit at the LAMIERA 2022 exhibition in Milan ( 18-21 May 2022 ) and introduce its new CY-FAST MARK galvo marking head which combines the marking process with cutting .
“ This head , independent from the laser cutting source , is ideal for rapidly marking barcodes / QR codes and images , even on film-coated materials . It is designed for very high-speed marking . Compared to a traditional system , it offers time savings of over 40 %. Customised marking levels and the ability to adapt to every marking requirements makes it a very useful accessory that fits perfectly into an Industry 4.0 framework . For contractors , in fact , part tracking is very important and CY- FAST MARK definitely represents added value ,” it told ISMR .
The CY-FAST MARK , with the EVO V HP proprietary cutting head for high powers , will be integrated onto CY2D RP3015 fibre laser cutting systems on the manufacturer ’ s booth at LAMIERA 2022 .
The exhibition will also be an opportunity for CY-LASER to present other innovations such as the CYTUBE modular system for cutting tubes with different profiles , the 5-axis cutting head with variable chamfer for bevel cutting and the CYWELD fibre laser welding system . The CYWELD is designed for the automatic welding of two overlapping sheets and processing of a semi-finished product which can be used for plate heat exchangers and conditioned silos .

Schröder supports SkillsDenmark users
Schröder sales partner , Muncholm , is one of the suppliers to the DM i Skills vocational competition . Muncholm provided Schröder ’ s PowerBend Universal sheet metal folding machine and the PDC NC motorised shear for the preliminary round of the international WorldSkills competition that was held in Høng , Kalundborg ( Denmark ), from 28-30 April 2022 .
Muncholm supports the major annual Danish championship for young people in vocational training . Around 300 young people take part in the competition in various subjects . In addition , schoolchildren learn more about apprenticeship occupations . Two machines from the Schröder Group were exhibited .
The Schröder folder , PowerBend Universal , was at the Skills event with a working length of 3200mm . This machine can bend up to 3mm thick sheet without damaging the sheet surface . The POS 2000 Professional graphic control is used to enter the folding programs . The exhibition machine was equipped with a motorised folding beam adjustment , hydraulic tool clamping of the clamping beam , motorised central crowning and a motorised back gauge .
PDC NC is a motorised shear with NC positioning gauge for up to 3mm thick sheets at a working length of 3200mm . The shear can cut in series at a stroke rate of 34 per minute . The material thickness can be selected on the control , and the blade gap then adjusts automatically . The PDC NC at the Skills competition featured a closed sheet support table , support plates with ball rollers and extended angle gauges with LED cutting edge illumination . n
