Voortman ’ s V303 features buffer management .
Automated metal plate cutting
Designed for efficient plate processing , Voortman Steel Machinery ’ s new plasma / oxy cutting machine ( V303 ) has been developed to optimise cutting results , minimise maintenance and improve productivity on the shop floor .
“ The machine enables an operator to use his available time even more efficiently . After all , he doesn ’ t have to be constantly present to monitor the progress of the cutting process . The V303 makes the cutting process easier , saves time and ensures that available production capacity can be fully utilised . For instance , by using the new buffer management , the V303 can cut plate after plate without the intervention of an operator . This makes it possible to control
and optimise the entire production process . At the same time , it offers high cutting quality and reduces production downtime to a minimum ,” explained the company .
“ Ground-breaking features on the V303 mean that the operator ’ s main task will shift from operator to workshop manager . By dashboarding , efficient job scheduling and more interactivity , the V303 automatically shows when manual intervention is required . Because an operator has to be physically present by the machine less often , he has more time for other activities ( such as managing the work floor ),” it added .
The V303 is equipped with in-house developed VACAM control software . The VACAM Buffer function can handle multiple
tasks in the buffer list and run them one after the other without the intervention of an operator .
Cut quality has also been improved , with no manual intervention . New ‘ Xtensive Bevel Cutting Technology ’ enables the cutting of complex bevels to be fully automated . Manual correction is unnecessary , said the company , and no pre-samples need to be cut . Combined with Voortman ’ s Instant Cut Technology and True Volt Technology , the V303 has been designed to enable a significant increase in production speed and quality . n
