Precision plasma cutting
Sheet metal , plate cutting and profiling experts , Kerf Developments , has an extensive range of oxy-fuel , plasma and waterjet cutting technology . The 2020 Version of its UltraSharp plasma cutting technology utilises proven material databases to calculate appropriate cutting strategies , identifying the most suitable speeds and feeds , gas pressures and applying appropriate lead-in and lead-out strategies .

Kerf ’ s RUR2500GP is a combination machine that offers precision plasma cutting via a Lincoln Electric Spirit 400amp system with UltraSharp cut quality . This is complimented by an oxy-fuel cutting head for cutting material up to 150mm thick .
“ Our Plasmaster 3015 compact profiling machine bridges the gap between our highend RUR machines and our refurbished machines . Significantly improved with new technology since its introduction , the enhanced Plasmaster 3015 targets smaller businesses wanting to cut everything from thin materials , such as ductwork , through to heavy-duty fabricators needing to cut thicker materials up to 25mm ,” it told ISMR .
The Plasmaster machine consists of a heavy-duty plate support system that contains individual dross bins that can be easily accessed to remove waste material . It supports a plate size of 3.0m x 1.5m and up to 25mm thick . The engineers at Kerf designed the base to be free-standing and not connected to the machine frame . This eliminates any potential shock loading issues and is designed to significantly enhance process reliability . n

Patented airflow design for welding helmet
Lincoln Electric ’ s VIKING™ 3350 XG PAPR welding helmet , complete with exterior grind control , features a powered air purifying respirator . The helmet also features various benefits designed to improve the welding experience .

Our VIKING™ 3350 XG PAPR system , with a popular exterior grind control , helps the operator to save time with easy access to the most common
fabricator activities – welding and grinding for pre- or post-joint preparation .”
The helmet also features a patented airflow design . The airduct is integrated into the top of the headgear and features two air flow baffles , which the user can adjust to change the direction and distribution of the set air flow . This feature helps to maximise operator comfort and prevent eye dryness .
“ With the system ’ s battery life , operators can work a full shift without interruption , improving efficiency . We also offer an extended battery which can operate for up to 16 hours , providing flexibility when working overtime and functioning as a safeguard if the battery is not charged overnight ,” added the manufacturer .
