An eye on wire
Wire 2024 will be staged in exhibition halls 9 to 17 . It will occupy some 66,900 square metres of exhibition space . With 1,026 exhibitors from 60 countries , it is expected to surpass pre-pandemic levels .
On show will be machinery and equipment for the manufacture and processing of wire ; finished products at Fasteners & Springs ; tools and auxiliaries for process engineering , materials , glass fibre technologies , special wires and cable as well as innovations from sensor , control and testing technology .
In addition to wire and cable machinery producers , wire and cable products and glass fibre technologies , wire mesh welding machines will be displayed in Hall 17 . These pose particular logistical challenges because thick cables have to be laid and connected in the supply ducts to transport the electric power that this heavy machinery requires for its live operations .
Fastener and spring-making technologies and their finished products will be in Hall 16 . Here , the complete value chain for fasteners and springs will be showcased from raw materials , machinery and equipment to fasteners , connectors and industrial springs .
Getting there
Düsseldorf Airport ( DUS ) is just 3km from the exhibition centre , with direct links to 200 destinations in 50 countries . It takes a few minutes to get to the exhibition centre , either by bus ( no . 896 ) or by taxi . The airport is also very close to the centre of Düsseldorf .
For those driving , the A44 motorway goes directly past the exhibition centre . Leave at Junction 29 , signposted “ Messe / Arena ,” and head for the two large car parks , P1 and P2 . Free shuttle buses are available from the car parks to the trade fair entrances . A total of 19 charging points for electric vehicles are available at six locations on the exhibition grounds . The Düsseldorf Exhibition Centre can be reached from Cologne within an hour and from Dortmund and Aachen within an hour and a quarter . The exhibition centre can also be reached from neighbouring Neuss , Krefeld , Mönchengladbach and Moers in 30 minutes . For arrival by local transport , take tram no . U78 MERKUR SPIEL-ARENA / Messe Nord or U79 Messe Ost ( exit at MesseOst / Stockumer Kirchstr .) or bus no . 722 ( exit at Messe Ost or Messe Süd / CCD ). There are two major transport hubs where you are likely to change : Hauptbahnhof ( central station ) and Heinrich- Heine-Allee . Nearly all destinations in and around Düsseldorf can be reached from these stations . During the trade fair , Rheinbahn also provides an additional airport shuttle bus ( no . 896 ).
