Starting in 2015 for the sixth edition of Made in Steel , the partnership has been consolidated over many years and has seen an increased number of international players hosted at the event , with numerous contacts and business relationships established with exhibitors .
For 2023 , ITA involved 18 target countries : Germany ; France ; Spain ; Austria ; Poland ; Switzerland ; Czech Republic ; Turkey ; Russia ; Ukraine ; Bosnia ; Croatia ; Serbia ; Egypt ; Morocco ; Tunisia ; Algeria and India .
The buyers invited are mainly EPCs — engineering procurement contractors , commodity purchasing managers of leading industrial players and large steel consumers ( i . e . machine-tool manufacturers , transport equipment manufacturers , metal fabricators etc .) and those with interests in the steel industry .
Made in Steel will also be held in partial conjunction with the LAMIERA sheetmetal exhibition ( 10-13 May 2023 ) at the exhibition grounds in Milan . The international exhibition for sheet-metal processing and sheet-metalforming machines and related technologies , promoted by UCIMU -Sistemi Per Produrre , will be held in the halls next to Made in Steel . This synergy will help to increase overall visitor numbers and networking / business opportunities for both events .

favour a decrease in steel production costs of about 7 % for EAF and more than 13 % for the blast furnace , paving the way for a drop in product selling prices .
“ It is plausible to assume that the turnover of steelmaking companies will decrease by about 13 % in 2023 compared to 2022 ,” Tosini continued . “ Consequently , the profitability of industrial operations in 2023 will fall by more than one percentage point , dropping to 2.5 % from 3.5 % [ in 2022 ], practically halving from 5 % in 2021 ,” he added .
