Polish manufacturer , Kimla , offers a hybrid laser for tube and sheet cutting . Its Flashcut linear laser , with linear drives , can cut sheet and tube ( 6m or 12m ). The system automatically unloads the tubes . The Kimla combination flat sheet-tube laser incorporates a tube laser cutting system which , says the company , ‘ is totally smart in its extraction of the cut part ’.
A special type of palette is used in the Kimla fibre laser , with an additional steering axis . It enables the cutting out of shapes and cutting of pipes with diameters up to 200mm . The maximum tube length depends on the laser model ( 3,000mm for the LF1530 ). The pipe to be cut rests freely during the cutting process , with no system of grips that block cutting at the pipe ends . This minimises waste .
Software specialist , Lantek , includes the Lantek Flex3d Tubes as a CAD / CAM software system for designing , nesting and cutting parts of tubes and pipes in its portfolio . The 2020 update also includes collision avoidance solutions in Lantek Expert and Lantek Flex3d modules “ that can avoid up to 80 per cent of downtime .”
Through its partnership with TRUMPF , a key industrial group in the machine-tool sector , it now has the necessary resources to pursue new investments .
LVD ’ s TL 8525 tube laser cutting system .
At EuroBLECH 2022 in Hanover , LVD showcased its TL 8525 XXL Tube Laser ( processing tube of up to 250mm ).
The TL 8525 is a feature-rich tube laser cutting machine designed for high productivity . It handles tube lengths of up to 8200mm and diameters of up to 250mm ( round or square ). Optimised features include a bevel cutting head ; automatic front loader ; 2kW laser power and a large X-axis cutting head range of 1190mm for maximum material usage . Maximum tube length is 8200mm , with 20-250mm tube diameter range and 45-degree 3D tilt cutting head .
The TL 2665-FL tube laser is built to handle a range of tube and profile cutting . Automatic setup and run functions provide a high level of process reliability . A seven-position front loader allows for semi-automatic tube loading for high-volume production . It can cut round , square or rectangular tube and pipe , C-channel and angle iron . It is available in 3kW or 4kW fibre laser versions ( 7925mm maximum tube length , 165mm diameter ). It features automated nesting ; a seam detection system and CADMAN-T embedded advanced programming software .
Mazak launched its FG-400 NEO ( a new fibre laser cutting system for tube ) last year . It handles large sizes ( up to 406mm diameter for round tube and 305 x 305mm for square tube ). Beam-shaping technology allows users to modulate the shape of the laser beam based on the cutting conditions e . g . material type , material thickness , type of contour etc .
Mazak has increased the cutting and movement speeds and the machine has a new rotary-tool spindle unit . The laser cutter performs multiple processes including cutting , drilling , flow-drilling and tapping , all in the same machine .
