Automatic tool changer

The DSF-TE4 presses are equipped with AIDA ’ s high-torque , low-speed servo motors designed specifically for pressing . The AIDA servo package allows users to optimise part height , slide movement and stroke length . The material impact speed control allows for increased productivity , improved tool life and reduced tool maintenance .
In addition , to enable its customers to perform off-line simulations of press and transfer movements , AIDA has developed ADMS ( AIDA Digital Motion System ), the productivity tool with which new die production parameters can be set off-line before moving the actual die to the press , saving valuable time .
“ With ADMS , it is possible to optimise the utilisation of the transfer press and achieve maximum productivity . The tool allows the removal of potential collisions using transfer and die interference curves , defined by just two points , and offers a high degree of integration between presses and transfer control software that allows users to easily switch from the off-line simulation environment to the actual production environment ,” explained AIDA .
In 2021 AIDA launched the new DSF- NE2 , a monolithic 2-point servo press that combines the high structure of the monobloc frame with the flexibility of the freely programmable servo movement of the proprietary AIDA DSF ® technology . DSF-NE2 presses are equipped with AIDA ’ s own low- RPM , high-torque servo motor for metalforming applications . Each frame component is designed and verified with FEM systems and manufactured to reduce deflection under load of below 0.1mm / m .
“ A zero-clearance roller guide ( without required lubrication ) significantly contributes to longer die life by guiding the slide at the front to back centre of the press and by fully guiding the whole range of slide motion . With its unique design and latest manufacturing features , the DSF-NE2 series of presses guarantees low-noise , low-vibration , multiple varied-length forming , optimising all manufacturing and maintenance operations . Dutch bending specialist SafanDarley has added the E-Brake C 200T Ultra with Tool Mate to its press brake range . With the addition of the Tool Mate , SafanDarley now has a diverse and complete range of press brakes from conventional and semiautomatic to fully automatic bending cells .
“ The Tool Mate is an external automatic tool changer and offers users great time savings when producing small batches ,” it told ISMR .
The servo-electric E-Brake C with 200T pressing force and a bending length of 4300mm is built with a C-frame to enable automatic tool changing .
“ The Tool Mate is very intuitive and does not require extensive training . Tool changes can be done via the SafanDarley E-Control . The correct tool settings can be loaded and used directly on the machine from AutoPOL offline software ( or other independent offline bending simulation software ),” explained SafanDarley .
“ With the high-precision changer , tools can be placed precisely in the correct position . With intelligent software , only necessary changes need to be made and tools from the previous tool set-up can be re-used . This means considerably shorter changeover times ,” added the manufacturer .
The tool storage magazine has a capacity of 32 , 52 or 60 metres of tools . The rotation station allows the upper tools to be rotated 180 degrees , eliminating the need for a double tool set .
The Tool Mate is suitable for the E-Brake C 200T as well as for the H-Brake series ( up to 320T ). n
