Tube cutting technology
The t-cut tube cutting machines from mechanical engineering company , transfluid , in Schmallenberg uses orbital cutting technology for tube with a diameter of up to 80mm .
“ Perfect cuts are one of the key production benefits of this technology , as well as rapid cycle times and clean processes . The RTO 628 for tube diameters of 6-28mm and the RTO 2080 for tube diameters of 20-80mm cut tubes with great precision , including steel and stainless steel tubes ,” commented transfluid director , Stefanie Flaeper .
The intuitive controls of the system integrate with production processes and can be combined with different concepts for loading tube or flexible unloading systems , if required . Speed and flexibility , said Flaeper , are inherent in the machine , used as either a stand-alone system or as part of a production cell .
“ We built the t-cut tube cutting system with a focus on economy and maximum efficiency . This starts with the durable cutting blade and continues with its clean cutting results , with no further steps required on a workpiece . With optional software available to optimise the cutting process , scrap and any associated waste is a thing of the past ,” added Flaeper . As an all-in-one solution , the t-cut can manufacture medium and large volumes with different cutting options , using a cut-through , pull or pull- / and break method . Changing machine set-up for other tube sizes or lengths takes very little time .

Portable dust extraction solution
Chicago Pneumatic has introduced a new all-in-one dust extraction solution designed to make metalworking applications safer and more efficient .
“ The compact and portable solution , comprising a powerful CPA5000 pneumatic vacuum cleaner and a lightweight shroud , is designed for use with traditional pneumatic hand tools to enable dust-free drilling , grinding and sanding . The solution is suitable for a wide range of operating environments , including hard-to-reach locations in shipyard , aerospace , rolling stock , machinery and renewables applications ,” the manufacturer told ISMR .
“ Metal dust poses a serious risk to workers ’ health , if inhaled . Designed for ease of use , the vacuum cleaner weighs 1.3kg . Its lightweight and compact size makes it easy for workers to carry with them to the next job . The shrouds are light yet durable , and simple to adapt to existing hand tools . They feature clear windows to enable 225-degree visibility , allowing workers to monitor the progress of the task at all times .
“ The same airline is used to power both the hand tool and the vacuum cleaner , simplifying use . The hose features a one-inch interface to optimise flow for effective and quick dust extraction , delivered with high efficiency , using cyclonic action .
