Technologies and requirements
The Xperience event combined presentations, demonstrations and introductions for visitors to the full Salvagnini panel bender range, used as stand-alone solutions or integrated with complementary technologies to support different production strategies. The range includes two bending platforms and a variety of configurations designed to meet different production requirements.
After listening to the needs of the market, from subcontractors to large manufacturers, Salvagnini decided to update its panel bender range, expanding its offer to include larger dimensions as well as optimise more compact sizes.
Its P2-3020 model is a panel bender capable of bending flat parts with lengths of up to three metres. This panel bender features extended bending length and improved ergonomics for large-size applications. The P2-3020 lets the machine manage the panel through the cycle, making the handling of large parts easier, safer and less physically demanding. ISMR viewed a demonstration on the machine at the Xperience event.
“ When talking with customers, we discovered that bending a three-metre panel on a traditional press brake requires enormous physical effort and often requires two operators and complex sheet following systems, especially for bend inversions,” explained Nicola Artuso.“ Ergonomic management is easier with the P2-3020: the operator only has to position the flat part horizontally and then collect the bent panel and can use simple roller conveyors or lifting equipment.”

can count on all the options available for P4, Salvagnini’ s flagship panel bender, with the only difference that it does not have the totally automatic loading and unloading devices.
The P2-1620 model was introduced in 2024 for a more compact footprint.“ In some sectors, the bent thicknesses and heights remain those typical of our larger models, but the maximum length is less than 1600mm,” confirmed Artuso. The P2-1620 is our response to these needs: it is a complete machine that can bend thicknesses of up to 3.2mm and cover 80 % of the lengths required in a wide range of industrial sectors.”
ISMR viewed a demonstration on two combined P2-1620 + P2-2120 panel bender models, which highlight the scalability of the P2 platform across different applications and production environments. A single platform, one bending logic and multiple configurations allow manufacturers to expand flexibility without adding complexity.
Salvagnini’ s P2-2520HG panel bender features extended thickness capability for heavy, structural applications. It can bend up to 3.2mm( 12 ga) stainless steel, with higher limits on mild steel( 3.6mm – 10 ga) and aluminium( 4.8mm – 5 ga), while machinecontrolled handling reduces operator effort on heavy parts.
“ The P4-2120, combining high-end automation with strong application versatility, is a flagship model in our panel bender range. Equipped with CLA and CLA / SIM, it automatically sets up the auxiliary tools for partial bends, enabling complex geometries without manual intervention. In this configuration, the panel bender is equipped with the ABA55 blankholder, which further extends its application range and makes it a strategic solution for companies that need longer return bends,” added Alberto Colpo.
The P4-4020 is the largest high-end panelbender in the Salvagnini range, designed for large-size applications. The machine processes the part automatically, simplifying handling and improving process control. With options such as CLA, P tools and CUT, it extends its application range to more complex geometries and profile production in the same cycle, turning the panel bender into a more complete work centre.
Mixed and smart operations
Salvagnini has also twinned panel bending and press brake operations into a single cell, as well as pairing cutting and bending operations in a single cell. These cells were on display at the Ennsdorf factory.
