counteracts it immediately . The gap control also remains constant during the levelling process , a key benefit designed for optimum levelling results especially with more complex components . The part levelling machine is also equipped with a barcode scanner , reversible levelling rollers for longer service life and functions such as edge and overload protection systems .
An integrated operation
To save space , Suer wanted to link its new part levelling machine to its deburring machine to create one integrated process . The control panels of the KOHLER and Timesavers machine have now been integrated into one system , with three cameras on top . This allows one employee to manage and oversee the entire process .
“ This saves time , space and energy . It also works very well ,” confirmed Leonard Suer .
KOHLER ’ s part levelling machine is designed to ensure flat and low-stress sheet metal .
“ Levelling involves more than just straightening a sheet . By reducing and balancing the tension in the material , further work becomes more process-reliable and efficient . The levelled part can then pass over the roller table into the deburring machine . Deburring , edge rounding , oxide removal and finishing then take place . At the touch of a button , the conveyor belt reverses once more so that the part is fed back to the front ,” explained Max Burgert , Product Manager , KOHLER .
In conclusion , KOHLER , Timesavers , 1A-Maschinen and Suer Stahltechnik cooperated successfully to go beyond just delivering a product . Ultimately , the goal was to deliver the optimum process for Suer Stahltechnik . Regular meetings between the partners were crucial during the development and completion of the production line .
“ I really liked the fact that all the companies responded to every customer request . I was able to say , for example , ‘ I would like it to be this way and that way . Is that possible ?’ They tried our suggestions and made them work . They also worked very closely together on this project . I really liked that and it turned out very , very well for us ,” concluded Raoul Knoop , a machine operator and workshop leader at Suer Stahltechnik . n
