“ The new 500-tonne ( 3.4m bed length ) press line , with roll feed and coil handling , will help support tool hand-over procedures to customers .”

Phoenix Tooling & Development Ltd rises to the ‘ proving out ’ challenge with a £ 750,000 press line investment via Worcester Presses .

Established in 1990 , Phoenix Tooling & Development Ltd is a specialist in progression , transfer and multi-slide press tooling . It has collaborated with many leading international automatic machinery manufacturers . The UK precision press tool designer and manufacturer is targeting a £ 3 million turnover by 2025 after it completed a £ 1.1 million investment drive that included the installation of a new press line .

To ensure that all new tooling enters full production without any issues , the company ’ s latest acquisitions include a Chin Fong GTX 500-D mechanical press and Tomac TLF4 coil handling equipment that allows for fully simulated mass production stamping . The new equipment enables trial tooling of up to 3.5 metres in length , whilst the tonnage monitoring apparatus captures data from each stage of the press cycle .
