New MD / COO for AMADA UK
On 1 April 2022 , AMADA Co . Ltd ., Japan , appointed Paul Mansfield to the position of managing director and COO of AMADA UK Ltd .
“ With almost 25 years of service in AMADA , Paul is well known to staff and customers throughout Europe and brings extensive knowledge and management experience to the role . The new position will run concurrently with his existing role as COO of AMADA Maquinaria Ibérica in Spain . Paul succeeds Steve Basford , who remains with the company as a special advisor focused on customer relations ,” commented AMADA .
Speaking at the start of AMADA UK ’ s 50th Anniversary year celebrations , Paul recognised the responsibility of the role Paul Mansfield . and explained his vision for the future of the company .
“ It is an honour to be chosen for this position and I appreciate the opportunity to
continue the hard work begun by my predecessors as we look forward to the next 50 years . It is an exciting time in the manufacturing industry as we start to realise the potential of IoT connectivity and the opportunities it gives for flexible , efficient production in a changing world . Our reputation for excellent customer service and outstanding machine quality will continue with renewed focus as we introduce IoT technologies to give our customers a competitive edge ,” he said .

Eder now chairs voestalpine AG Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board of voestalpine AG ( the steel and technology group ) elected Wolfgang Eder as its new chairman as of 1 April 2022 , the start of the new business year . Eder
Wolfgang Eder . succeeds Joachim Lemppenau , who stepped down after 18 years as chairman of the supervisory body . Lemppenau will continue to serve the Group as a member of the Supervisory Board until his current term of office officially ends at the 2024 Annual General Meeting .
Wolfgang Eder has worked at voestalpine for over 40 years , 15 of which ( 2004 to 2019 ) were spent as chairman of the Management Board . He was elected to the Supervisory Board in July 2019 .
Voestalpine , which operates globally , has around 500 Group companies and locations in more than 50 countries on all five continents . In business year 2020 / 21 , the Group generated revenues of 11.3 billion euros , with an operating result ( EBITDA ) of 1.1 billion euros . n
Luptak heads Ohio Coatings Company
Ohio Coatings Company , a joint venture between Esmark , Inc . and TCC Steel , has appointed David Luptak , current Esmark Industrial Group CEO , as the CEO of Ohio Coatings Company ( OCC ), effective from 1 June 2022 . Luptak succeeds Jim Tennant , who will retire after a successful 40-year career on 31 May 2022 .
Luptak joined Esmark , Inc . in 2006 when Esmark acquired Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel . At that time , and for several years as part of the Esmark enterprise , he served as President and Chief Operating Officer of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel . Later , he served as Executive Vice President of Mill Operations for Esmark , Inc ., before being named Esmark Industrial Group CEO and Chief Legal Counsel .
“ Dave has been a valued member of the Esmark team for more than 15 years . His extensive experience in mill operations , legal counsel and management will benefit OCC as we continue to pursue our goals to reduce costs and increase production ,” said James P . Bouchard , Chairman and CEO , Esmark , Inc .
As CEO of Esmark Industrial Group , Luptak oversaw the purchase and expansion of Excalibur Machine Company , increasing the number of employees at its three locations and investing in new equipment and facilities .
Before joining Wheeling Pitt Steel and Esmark , Inc ., Luptak held various positions at United States Steel Corporation over the course of 21 years . In 2000 , he was named David Luptak . General Counsel of European operations and was promoted to Assistant General Counsel at the company ’ s Pittsburgh headquarters in 2004 . The following year , Luptak took over operations of the U . S . Steel ’ s Edgar Thomson plant in Braddock , PA . He is a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh School of Law .
Tennant was named President of OCC , an Esmark , Inc . subsidiary located in Yorkville ,
Ohio , in 2005 and helped the company grow into a leader in tin plate production technology and a worldwide supplier of electrolytic tin plate used in end products such as sanitary food cans and aerosol cans . He guided the company through periods of great transformation and upheaval , including ownership changes and supply chain challenges stemming from the COVID-19 pandemic . His lengthy career includes more than 40 years of experience in executive leadership and manufacturing accounting .
“ We are immensely grateful for everything Jim has done for OCC and Esmark over the years . We wish him well in his retirement ,” said Bouchard . n
