Material handling and storage solutions
Material handling specialist, Combilift, will be demonstrating its handling and storing solutions, even for long and bulky loads, with its range of customised forklifts and other material handling solutions on stand B50 at UK Metals Expo( 10-11 September 2025, Birmingham, UK).
It has a wide array of products, with at least 30 models, designed for safe, space-saving and productive operation. Its range, with lift capacities ranging from 1.5 tons to over 150 tons, includes multidirectional forklifts and pedestrian stacker trucks. Four-way and twoway sideloaders, straddle carriers and the Aisle Master articulated narrow-aisle forklifts also form part of its portfolio.
These products can be used indoors and outside for offloading incoming products in the yard, taking raw material to production or manufacturing lines and storing finished products in the warehouse. All Combilifts are tailor-made to customer requirements, with a range of attachments and power options.
On display at UK Metals Expo will be Combilift’ s multidirectional range: the C-Series and the Combi-CB, which are designed to travel sideways while handling long and bulky loads.
“ The sideways function eliminates the need for overhead carrying while navigating tight spaces, which significantly reduces the risk of injury. This, in turn, allows for much better and cost-effective use of all available space which is one of our most valuable assets,” commented the Irish manufacturer.
“ These forklifts are built with a very low centre of gravity, allowing for a low-to-theground movement of a load. The C-Series also includes an integrated platform, providing a stable base for resting a load during transportation. Combi-CB’ s versatility allows it to function as a universal truck for pallet handling in the front position and for handling long loads sideways,” it concluded. n

New sustainability tracking software
Epicor, a global specialist for industryspecific enterprise software, recently unveiled its new, patent-pending Carbon Cost Rollup solution within Epicor Kinetic, the Epicor Industry ERP Cloud that is purpose-built for manufacturers. Carbon Cost Rollup revolutionises carbon tracking by treating carbon dioxide equivalent( CO₂e) as a currency.
“ The solution establishes‘ Cost Rollup’ methods from standard costing systems. Adapting this concept transforms carbon tracking by treating CO₂ emissions as a currency, helping business leaders to calculate their compliance reporting to a high degree of certainty,” explained Epicor.
“ Through feedback from our Customer Advisory Board members, it became clear there was a need for a simplified approach to environmental accountability and reporting in the manufacturing sector,” explained Epicor Group Vice President, Kerrie Jordan.“ I am incredibly proud of our team’ s achievements in building a solution that addresses those needs and empowers organisations to mitigate climate change by prioritising areas for emissions reduction and addressing their carbon footprint with the same precision and rigour as their financial costs. This marks a significant step forward in sustainability tracking for manufacturers.”
“ The process begins at the most fundamental level of the bill of materials and
operations, calculating the carbon cost for each component. As it ascends through each tier, the cumulative carbon expenditure for the final product becomes clear. This method not only simplifies the complex calculations associated with carbon accounting but also integrates seamlessly with existing cost accounting software, minimising the learning curve for users,” concluded Epicor.
The Epicor Carbon Cost Rollup solution is complementary to the company’ s collaboration with carbon intelligence platform, Climatiq. In 2024, the companies announced the integration of Climatiq’ s carbon footprint calculation API across the Epicor portfolio“ to help businesses work towards sustainability goals without compromising profitability.” n
