The Future Hub is dedicated to hot topics such as automation; artificial intelligence; environmental protection; recruitment; cybersecurity and social media. The focus is not only on knowledge transfer but also on meaningful networking. Formats such as moderated talks, best-practice sessions, panel discussions and talent-oriented events aim to encourage intensive dialogue among stakeholders. Additional highlights include‘ meet-and-greets’ with industry leaders and prominent influencers offering fresh insights into communication, careers and collaboration in the digital age.
The first programme highlights have already been finalised, with an exciting speaker line-up taking shape. Benedikt Allebrodt, from Durum, will speak about innovative materials for thermal surfacing, highlighting high-alloy seamless cored wires in wear and corrosion protection applications. Juha Ensio Kauhanen, from Savo Vocational College in Finland, will show an English-language presentation on how real-time feedback and performance analysis can take training to a new level.
Samuel Mann of welded. io will provide insights into connected welding fume sensors that detect hazardous emissions and enable energy-efficient process control— an important step towards both occupational safety and automation, he said. The programme will be complemented by a presentation from Clemens Müller, from RWTH Aachen, on the surfacing of punching dies used in progressive tools, and an international panel discussion on resourcesaving cleaning processes, including Olaf Reuter from Reuter.
“ The new Future Hub features its own stage for panel discussions, product pitches, live welding demonstrations and insightful industry talks. More speakers have now been confirmed. Two particularly pioneering presentations will take place on 17 September 2025,” confirmed Messe Essen.
“ Dr. Madlen Borkmann from the Fraunhofer Institute for Material and Beam Technology IWS will present a newly developed highly dynamic laser cutting system for complex contours, highlighting the significance of dynamic parameters and their influence on process quality. On the same day, Jacqueline Hertig, Strategic Product Manager Insight Applications and Project Manager, Nederman Filtration GmbH( Germany), will explain how smart monitoring systems, IoT technologies and data platforms can drive digital transformation in welding and cutting for greater safety, efficiency and transparency in connected manufacturing environments,” outlined the show organiser.
Further programme highlights are already being planned, covering topics such as women in industry, the role of social media in technical communication, recruitment

Audience award for digital solutions
The IF Digital Award will be presented for the first time at the event. This new industry prize honours innovative digital systems and solutions and will be awarded in bronze, silver and gold categories. Ticket holders automatically receive the right to vote and are entered into a prize draw. Voting can be done on-site via the official trade fair app.
The IF Digital Award will be jointly presented by the IndustryFusion Foundation( IFF), Messe Essen and DVS – German Welding Society. Visitors will be able to choose their digital favourite and win attractive prizes. Exhibiting companies can submit their products on the megatopic of digitalisation for the first IF Digital Award.
Focusing on joining, cutting and surfacing technologies, the newly created IF Digital Award is aimed at exhibitors who have developed pioneering digital solutions in these key processes. The“ IF” in the name stands for both“ IndustryFusion” and the word“ if” is an invitation to all those who offer digital products or processes at
