Industry meets science in Poznań
The focus of this year’ s ITM INDUSTRY EUROPE 2025 trade fair( 3 – 6 June 2025 in Poznań, Poland) was on breakthrough technologies that improve production processes and impact the formation of new business models in the industry. The trade show highlighted that modern industry cannot exist without close cooperation with science. The European Science Fair has therefore become an integral part of the event.
“ From automation and robotisation, through to digitalisation, artificial intelligence, advanced security systems and sustainable energy solutions— all these innovations made up the main idea of the event: to show how technology is creating the future of industry,” said show organiser, Grupa MTP.
“ The ITM INDUSTRY EUROPE exhibition was divided into industry showrooms and thematic zones. The flagship of the trade show i. e.‘ Innovations, Technologies and Machines’ attracted 14,673 visitors to Poznań, who had the opportunity to see solutions presented by over 700 exhibitors from various industry sectors,” it continued.
During the official opening ceremony, six MTP Gold Medals were awarded to exhibitors for various solutions. The Acanthus Aureus awards were also presented to exhibitors for“ stands that most effectively combined aesthetics with the marketing vision and brand communication strategy.”
An eye on automation
Special thematic zones, such as the Demobus Zone and the PNEUMAT GAME Zone, were also visited by crowds( including the Collaborative Robot Zone and DBR77 Factory of the Future).
Exhibitors and experts invited to the discussion panels emphasised that there is no turning back from advanced automation, but it is to support people and not replace them.“ Our devices do not take people’ s jobs but provide opportunities for further development and increased productivity. We are moving towards smart factories and automation. We need to be automated and digitalised to be competitive.’ argued Andrzej Janiszewski, CEO of TRUMPF Polska and winner of the Gold Medal 2025. A key aspect remains awareness and education.
“ The issue of automation appeared, among others, during the debate in Studio MM( Industrial Magazine) which highlighted that technology, with the right approach, brings people together and does not replace them,” added the show organiser.
Safety, technology and science
The Safety Zone in Hall 3A featured spectacular crash tests and demonstrations of real threats in modern production plants and warehouses. Demonstrations involved cobots, controlled impacts and intelligent security systems.
This topic was also discussed during a conference on work safety in warehouses organised by the Polish Office of Technical Inspection and the National Labour Inspectorate. The meeting brought together specialists from across Poland to discuss the concept of‘ Vision Zero’ with the goal of completely eliminating accidents at work. Proven practices, innovative technologies supporting a safe working environment and real examples of preventive actions from Polish warehouses were highlighted.
“ Occupational safety is the foundation of sustainable economic development in every country. Contemporary challenges( such as globalisation, growing legal requirements and technological innovations) require the creation of a work environment in which accidents should not occur,” said Magdalena Popowicz, Deputy Director of the Department of Prevention and Promotion at the Chief Labour Inspectorate, Poland.
At the Factory of the Future DBR77, issues such as diversity, technology and modern industrial management were discussed. The European Science Fair( organised by
the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the Adam Mickiewicz University and Grupa MTP) was combined with a conference. This was inaugurated with a lecture by Prof. Andrzej Dragan entitled:“ Can Machines Think?”, encouraging participants to reflect on the limits of human cognition and the development of artificial intelligence. The programme included various panel discussions, debates, workshops, science exhibitions and interactive zones.
SUBCONTRACTING and MODERNLOG 2025
This year’ s edition of the SUBCONTRACTING Industrial Cooperation and Outsourcing Fair attracted exhibitors from Poland and overseas, as well as professionals representing( among others) the metal, machinery, electrical engineering and plastics processing industries. A B2B matchmaking platform, Subcontracting Meetings, was used to set up business chats between potential contractors.
The MODERNLOG exhibition, with an accent on logistics, featured mobile robots, WMS systems, order picking solutions and technologies supporting the automation of warehouse processes. Conferences, industry debates and live demonstrations of logistics processes were held. The Start-up Zone Stage, powered by Smart Warehouse, showcased the IDEA Startup Challenge competition, which selected innovative young companies.
The special In4Log Zone demonstrated the complete process of order picking and shipping in a modern and fully automated warehouse. The sixth edition of the Smart Warehouse Conference, powered by Reflex, hosted a discussion where logistics industry specialists and specialists discussed the current situation in the Polish logistics sector.
