According to new market analysis from Global Market Insights Inc ., the smart factory market size is predicted to pass US $ 280 billion by 2032 . The increasing deployment of industrial robots for speeding up the automation process in factories is expected to anchor market growth .
The rapid growth of the manufacturing sector has propelled the demand for industrial robots and automation for activities such as material handling , mechanical / electronic assembly and product testing . According to preliminary results presented by the International Federation of Robotics ( IFR ) recently , the European Union ´ s ( EU ) 27 member states installed almost 72,000 industrial robot units in 2022 ( up 6 % year-on-year ). Robot installations in European countries , including non-EU member states , reached a total of 84,000 units ( up 3 %) in 2022 . The North American robotics market showed strong growth , confirmed the IFR ; total installations in manufacturing rose by 12 % and reached 41,624 units in 2022 .
