Lantek Bend

Lantek Bend.
Lantek Bend offers a range of advanced features that make it a versatile tool for businesses. It features powerful algorithms for intelligent solutions, including real-time validation of the bending process and the ability to batch process multiple parts.
Its key features include automatic 3D simulation; real-time collision control; batch / assembly processing; a tool set-up optimiser and over 7000 industry standard tools. Other features include adaptive flat patterns, support for several machine manufacturers and controllers, and the ability to export standard work document reports.
“ Lantek Bend enables automatic program creation in seconds and can process sheet metal parts in large assemblies within one minute,” confirmed Lantek.
With support for over 20 part and assembly file formats and an easy-touse interface, the software can create custom solutions for bending tasks.

Selmach embraces Lantek Bend

Selmach Machinery, a specialist supplier of metal working machinery and equipment in the UK, has extended its relationship with Lantek to use its Lantek Bend software with its Morgan Rushworth press brake machinery.
Selmach Machinery, which already supplies Lantek Expert Cut software alongside its Morgan Rushworth CNC fibre laser range for 2D CAD / CAM nesting, was looking for a software solution which would enable its customers to import parts and generate flat drawings automatically, rather than having to create these from scratch.
“ Lantek Bend provided the solution as it is designed to significantly cut down processing time between receiving drawings and cutting blanks on the profiling machines, which results in cost savings on every job. As part of the agreement with Selmach Machinery, we will also provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to the end user,” explained Lantek.

FOCUS ON CAD / CAM

Lantek has enhanced its‘ Nesting by Attribute’ feature in the latest v45 release of Lantek Expert software.

About Lantek

Lantek is a multinational company focused on the digital transformation of companies in the sheet metal and metal industry. With its patented smart manufacturing software, Lantek enables factories to be connected( turning them into Smart Factories).
Lantek’ s services include CAD, CAM, MES and ERP solutions for companies that manufacture metal parts from sheet metal, tubes and profiles using any cutting technology( laser, plasma, oxycut, waterjet, shearing and punching).
Founded in 1986 in the Basque Country( Spain), Lantek enables the integration of sheet metal and metal processing technologies using advanced manufacturing management software. With more than 37,000 customers in over 100 countries and 23 offices in 17 countries( the latest one in Canada), it has an extensive network of distributors with an international presence.
press brake set-up times by 50 % whilst eliminating the risk of human error.
“ The major benefit with Lantek Bend is the reduction in machine set-up times, which are at least 50 % faster— [ this means ] even better
Jordan Adlam, a sales engineer at Emsea, demonstrates the Lantek Bend software. value that we can offer to our customers. With Lantek Bend, we have a flexible process as the blank sizes automatically feed into Lantek Expert( CAD / CAM software) for nesting and cutting. With other software systems when unfolding to give the blank sizes, you [ can sometimes ] lose the ability to change material, tooling sizes or bend radii on the fly. Not only is Lantek Bend more flexible, easily coping with manufacturing changes, but the material pricing is also accurate,” Jordan Adlam of Emsea explained.
“ Lantek Bend is really simple and straightforward to use as we import the customer’ s 3D CAD models and the software breaks them down into the individual components, unfolds each part and works out the most efficient way of bending each part with the minimum number of tool set-ups,” he added.
Batch operations
feature makes it possible to batch together large numbers of different parts.
“ The TRUMPF TruBend machine features some powerful technology, including ACB Wireless and ACB Laser. Our software analyses all the bends required, works out the bending sequence for each part and provides a list of tooling to cover all the different parts, minimising the number of tools required for the whole batch. This significantly reduces overall set-up times while providing the most efficient bending sequence,” highlighted Lantek.
Emsea has been a Lantek customer since 2004, utilising Lantek Expert for programming its laser and waterjet machines. The company also uses Lantek Integra software to manage its production and generate quotations for customers every day. n
