At EuroBLECH 2022 , Dutch sheet-metal bending specialist , SafanDarley , demonstrated the E-Brake Mini Cell and R-Brake in a separate area , dubbed the ‘ production environment of the future ’.
With the R-Brake , the press brake and robot are integrated into one modular system . The automatic tool and gripper change are linked to the machine and , with the product , are programmed offline using SafanDarley RoboBend offline simulation software . The robot can be traversed horizontally along a gantry of six metres above the press brake , leaving the floor in front of the machine free for supply and unloading stations . This saves a lot of space .
For the automatic production of small complex products , SafanDarley offers the E-Brake Mini Cell . The Mini Cell has a modular structure and can be configured according to customer requirements . SafanDarley also showcased the E-Brake C 200T with Tool Mate , an external automatic and intelligent tool changer , at the exhibition in Hanover last October . The latest model in the hybrid range , the H-Brake Hybrid + 230T Ultra , was also on display .
“ At its core is an advanced dual hybrid drive with high return speed , increased productivity and low energy consumption . This reduces costs , with one of the main advantages of this system being a dramatic reduction in energy consumption ,” explained the Dutch sheetmetal bending specialist .
SafanDarley also presented machines from its standard product range , such as the H-Brake Hybrid 110-1600 and the E-Brake 130T Ultra equipped with an intelligent bending aid , the I-Mate . Its AutoPOL offline bending simulation software is a modern 3D system for programming press brakes off-line and unfolding 3D CAD files .
ATA is a proprietary Salvagnini solution which makes it possible to automatically adjust the length of the bending tools of the Salvagnini B3 press brake to the part being processed .
“ The ATA device makes it possible to automatically change and adjust the length of the bending tools ,” explains Nicola Artuso , Salvagnini product manager for bending technologies . “ It is available on many of the models in our range of press brakes and can be configured according to the customer ’ s specific production needs : it can be used only for the upper tools , can be integrated with the MVM ( the variable opening die up to 51mm which automatically adapts the V opening ) or can be used on the upper and lower tools . It can also interact with the automatic AU-TO tool changer .”
Automatic set-up and tool change are the two most obvious features of B3 . AU-TO , the Salvagnini press brake . By combining the features and benefits of electric and hydraulic solutions , B3 . AU-TO significantly extends the availability , autonomy and flexibility of the press brake . It is available in four models , with maximum bending length of three or four metres and maximum force of 170 or 220 tons . The option of using WILA tools for mixed re-tooling ; integrated adaptive technologies ; Direct Drive , KERS and new possibilities in the software further extend performance . ROBOformER is Salvagnini ’ s automatic pressbrake cell run by a single controller and a single program .
To combat the global shortage of expert press brake operators , Salvagnini offers its STREAMFORMER CAM software . Around 65 % of its B3 press brakes and practically 100 % of the press brakes with ATA automation are supplied with this software . STREAMFORMER integrates the press brake in a complete process because it is part of STREAM , the integrated programming suite for Salvagnini systems .
Salvagnini presented an S1 + P4 punching and panel bending line at EuroBLECH 2022 ( S1 punch-laser combi machine and P4-2520 panel bender ). Salvagnini also presented a further extension of the concept of in-line processing , by integrating a B3 . AU-TO press brake downstream of the S1 + P4 .
At the EuroBLECH exhibition in Hanover , Germany ( 25-28 October 2022 ), Schiavi Macchine displayed a 170-ton HFBx hybrid press brake ( 3m , eight axes , with 800mm large opening and 500mm stroke ).
“ It is ideal for bending complex profiles and can reach speeds of up to 300mm / s ,” the Italian bending specialist told ISMR .
The second press brake on its stand was a small 50-ton Hybrid BSTs ( 1.2m , six axes ) for the rapid bending of small components . This press brake consumes 0.6-0.7kW / h of energy and offers speeds of up to 250mm / s .
“ Our Atlas CNC control features on both press brakes . It automatically generates the entire bending program , including tooling setup ,” added the manufacturer .
STEP Automation specialises in numeric control for press brakes and shears . Its new generation ROCK NC series is for programming and controlling press brakes . The software provides features for Industry 4.0 such as scheduled maintenance management , production management and easy integration with corporate ERPs .
TEDA Srl Speedy compact press brakes are designed for small part bending and are available in two versions , manual and NCdriven , and in two dimensions ( 550 - 835mm , 16 and 18 tons respectively ). The company also offers SPEED GRIP pneumatic and manual clamping systems for press brakes , available in different versions .
Turkish manufacturer Toskar Makina ’ s Easy Fab series of press brakes has been designed with two main goals in mind ; easy operation and maximum productivity in the long run . They feature a sturdy steel frame ( ST44 A1 steel ) and a wide variety of standard features such as a motorised R axis , manual crowning and full-length tooling .
