Loire Gestamp

Loire Gestamp , a branch of the Gestamp group , designs and manufactures all types of hydraulic presses and can adapt products to the specific needs of each project . Processes include hot stamping , cold stamping ( deep drawing presses ), hydroforming and try-out tooling . Situated in Hernani , Gipuzkoa ( Spain ), since 1962 , Loire Gestamp is one of Europe ’ s largest producers of hydraulic presses . Loire Gestamp installed its first fully monitored servo-mechanical line at Gestamp Navarra plant in 2020 to ensure greater production and flexibility with lower energy consumption .
It also has internal capabilities for the development and manufacture of dies , covering the entire value chain : design ; machining ; construction ; tuning ; prototyping and monitoring . In this way , Gestamp keeps its stamping process experience in the group .
Looking ahead
With 25 years of experience , Gestamp has moved from being a small local stamping company to a global company operating in the main automotive manufacturing hubs . The company is present in 24 countries with more than 100 production plants , 13 R & D centres and a workforce of nearly 40,000 employees worldwide .

The company offers processes such as hot stamping ; cold stamping ; rollforming ; hydroforming ; welding ( including laser welding ); assembly and patchwork blanking . It has embraced ongoing Industry-4.0 initiatives that cover different production processes from hot stamping , cold stamping or arc welding to auxiliary processes ( such as maintenance , logistics , quality or energy ) in its march towards the Smart Factory .
Its turnover in 2021 was 8,093 million euros . In November 2022 , Gestamp presented its results for the first nine months of 2022 .
Francisco J . Riberas , Executive Chairman of Gestamp , confirmed : “ Our results continue to reflect Gestamp ’ s strong positioning and the success of our strategy . Looking ahead , market conditions remain difficult due to high inflationary pressures , rising interest rates and global geopolitical challenges . In this context , the company will continue focusing on preserving profitability and its balance sheet position for future growth .”
During the first nine months of 2022 , Gestamp ’ s revenues increased by 30.9 % in reported terms , reaching € 7,697 million . EBITDA stood at € 847 million , registering an increase of 20.9 % compared to the first nine months of 2021 . Regarding profitability and liquidity , EBITDA margin stood at 11 % ( 12.4 % excluding raw material impact ) in the period and the company generated a free cash flow of € 65 million from July to September 2022 . Gestamp recorded a net profit of € 183 million over the first nine months of the year .
Investments have reached levels of 7.5 % of revenues for the period , € 581 million in absolute terms . As the company is focused on electrification trends , over 50 % of its first nine months of 2022 tangible CAPEX is related to electric vehicles ( EV ). As electrification trends accelerate , Gestamp continues to focus on the development of projects that help its clients to accelerate this transition , such as battery box and extreme size parts .
Cleaner and greener
Gestamp aims to provide solutions that make mobility cleaner and safer by adding new products to its portfolio and covering its clients ’ EV needs . For example , the recent resolution of the Spanish Ministry of Industry regarding the development of the Electric and Connected Vehicle ( PERTE VEC ) is a boost for the Spanish automotive industry to develop projects that promote electric vehicles . Gestamp is present in three of the five projects led by the OEMs .
The company is continuously working on achieving sustainability goals that “ are part of its DNA ,” focusing on a “ greener ” automotive industry and creating awareness of the importance of the circular economy . For example , it is trying to increase the sustainable origin and efficient use of the energy required for its production . In Brazil , Gestamp has just signed an agreement with Cemig to supply its electricity at the plants from renewable energy sources .
