Kemppi welds stoves to send to Ukraine
On 4 January 2023 , Kemppi organised a stove welding day , inviting companies from the Lahti region of Finland .
“ By organising this welding day , we are responding to the challenge from LUT University ( Lappeenranta-Lahti University of Technology ) to help Ukrainians . Stoves can be used to heat apartments and cook food . The purpose is to help Ukrainians suffering from energy shortages . Many Ukrainians have no electricity or heat distribution after the Russian bombings ,” said the Finnish welding specialist .

Kemppi participated in the welding of stoves at LUT University .
Institute Ltd ., Eduko responded to Kemppi ’ s invitation to participate in the welding day . More than thirty companies from all over Finland have already participated in LUT University ’ s challenge .
“ The situation in Ukraine is very challenging because of the destruction caused by the Russian attacks . Electricity and heating disruptions are significant . By making stoves , we can make people ’ s lives a bit easier in the midst of war . This is a unique project , and we are honoured to be part of it ,” commented Aarno Laine , Director , Domestic Sales , Kemppi Oy .
Dozens of stoves intended for households are manufactured at LUT and transported to Ukrainians suffering from energy shortages . This is the university ’ s mechanical engineering student and staff project , where the stoves are made as part of the course exercises . Kemppi also participated in the project by sending a welder to Lappeenranta for two days .

New press investment by BENTELER
BENTELER opened a new 3,200-ton , coldforming transfer press at its automotive plant in Burgos in October 2022 . For the new press , it invested more than 12 million euros into the plant . It enables the automotive supplier to adapt to the new stamping challenges required by its customers , such as stamping components from very thick sheet metal with a high yield strength directly from coil . The President of the Junta de Castilla y León , Alfonso Fernández Mañueco , was also at the opening ceremony .
Ricardo García , Executive Vice President Southern Europe , BENTELER Automotive , commented : “ The BENTELER plant at Burgos is in the process of transformation into an intelligent plant . This new press will be monitored with Big Data technologies , so that with advanced data analysis techniques we can optimise the process , costs and maintenance strategy , moving from corrective to predictive maintenance .”
