The TruBend Cell 5000 has been designed for easy programming and rapid automated bending for a wide range of parts . Sheet sensors detect the precise position and guarantee that components are recorded reliably . The TruBend Cell 7000 is what TRUMPF dubs “ the world ’ s fastest small-part bending cell .” The LoadMaster Bend loads the press brake with blanks parallel to production . An integrated sheet sensor transfers them precisely to the BendMaster .
TY Associates in Japan has introduced ‘ MY DIE ’, a new bending lower die for press brakes .
“ MY DIE performs an incredible short flange . Depending on the material and thickness , no die changeover is needed . The bend allowance is almost the same as for standard V dies . It achieves high bending straightness with its unique structure and little hole deformation close to the bend line . The wings of MY DIE are coated with DLC ( diamond like carbon ) which ensure long life ,” it commented .
Warcom is a leading Italian manufacturer of press brakes , shears , plasma cutting machines and fibre laser cutting machines .
WILA develops and manufactures durable press brake tooling with award-winning innovations designed to make the toolchanging process faster , safer and accurate . It also specialises in mechanical , hydraulic and pneumatic press brake clamping systems . The WILA AirPower Series of tool-holders are suitable for electric press brakes . Users have been able to purchase pneumatic clamping systems from WILA in the Premium version . With the newly introduced Pro variant , the range has now been expanded .
The WILA Webshop is suitable for standard
tools , while the Tool Advisor offers users an online engineering tool for configuring customer-specific solutions . Special tools can be designed according to the required dimensions , or the desired bending project can be drawn to receive a tool recommendation . The configured tools can then be quoted or ordered online .
As a result of WILA ’ s decision to offer customers more digital solutions for Industry 4.0 , it launched the Smart Tooling Concept . Using this concept , press brake users can manage tool data . WILA ’ s clamping systems can be equipped with the Smart Tool Locator , part of the Smart Tooling Concept , which uses LED indicators to reduce errors during bending operations .
The Smart Tooling Concept features New Standard Premium tools with a scannable ID ; the WILA Smart Tooling app ( where tool specifications and bending advice can be directly accessed ) and wireless tool data synchronisation ( a WILA tool-holder equipped with Bluetooth synchronises tool data with the press brake control ).
“ Our tool holders with a Tooling Identification and Positioning System ( TIPS ) are equipped with Bluetooth . The TIPS system was initially developed for use in automated bending cells because a robot needs all this information to work . The information provided by TIPS enables it to pick up the right tool and position it in the right place . But TIPS is also useful for manual and semi-automatic bending because the detailed information that it provides prevents errors and speeds up tool handling . This prevents test bending and increases productivity , especially for small batches with lots of variations ,” explained WILA .
WILA New Standard Premium Tooling is CNC-Deep-hardened ® to 56-60 HRC , up to 4mm on all working surfaces . This , said the company , provides maximum wear resistance , durability and long-term accuracy . All tools are
produced to a tolerance of up to +/ - 0.01mm and undergo strict quality assurance checks at every step in the production process .
To further support rapid and safe tool changes , WILA ’ s Safety-Click ® and Easy-to- Move ® ( E2M ) technologies are designed maximize speed and safety when changing top and bottom tools vertically or horizontally . With a scannable DM-code on every New Standard Premium tool , WILA provides an Industry 4.0 tool management solution for easy identification and tool data exchange .
Wilson Tool International , the largest independent manufacturer of tooling systems for punch presses , press brakes and punch and die components for the stamping industry , offers easier part removal in press brake operations with swing ear sets . It manufactures a full selection of European and WILA / TRUMPF-Style precision press brake tooling and clamping systems . Tooling also includes the Corner Former and its Express Crowning TM system . It has also introduced intelligent tooling systems .
Express Air is its press brake clamp for bending applications , offering an air-powered option that clamps and seats front and back tools simultaneously at the touch of a button . AFH is the company ’ s line of fixed height tooling designed to be fully compatible with AMADA fixed height tooling and machine control . Wilson Tools ’ Express CROWNING deflection control system helps to control deflection , or “ the canoe effect ”, in press brake applications over four feet long . Press brake operators can now crown the lower beam with manual or electric options and secure dies with manual or hydraulic power .
“ Some sheet metal operators want to figure out how to punch and form in the press brake . We now have this great new Brake Partner TM product that allows them to form in the press brake . We are seeing much greater demand for this ,” the tooling specialist told ISMR .
Wilson ’ s ExpressRail™ 2000 hydraulic clamping system reduces set-up time with a wireless pendant control that clamps and seats press brake tooling in seconds , giving fabricators more open height and extended clamp life . n
