A

prominent steel parts manufacturer in Latvia has significantly increased its cutting capabilities with a new fibre laser cutting system from Yamazaki Mazak . “ We have provided a wide variety of steel parts to multiple industries since the company started , including wind turbine and lifting equipment components and different parts for the transport industry ,” said Flemming Rasmussen , CEO at East Metal . “ Yet , regardless of what we are supplying , one thing must remain constant – the quality and accuracy of the parts we cut .”
East Metal takes on a wide variety of machining projects from cutting ( plasma cutting , flame cutting , sawing and fibre laser cutting ) to the bending and rolling of metal sheet and CNC turning ( of smaller pieces ). Its core competencies are welding ; machining ; surface treatment ; load testing / tensile strength testing and project management .
It offers services such as steel and metal construction ( including the manufacture of large , complex steel metal structures ); machining ; surface treatment ( surface blasting , galvanisation and metallisation ); pulling / load tests and assembly ( mechanical assembly of metalwork products through to full product assembly , including prototypes and special machinery ).
Specialist cutting services
Founded in Latvia in 1997 , East Metal began as a subcontractor specialising in wood and steel components for different industries . The consistent growth of its steel cutting division meant the company , over time , began to solely focus on this single material and specialise in the manufacture of large , complex products . The company manufactures prototypes and single-piece products as well as serially produced products . It acts as an independent subcontractor with the capacity to carry out large and small jobs and specialises in the manufacture of products and components based on its customers ’ drawings and specifications . This includes acting as an outsourcing solution as support for OEMs ’ production , to reduce their total production costs and mitigate long-term risks .
East Metal has since expanded into four separate facilities across Latvia and Denmark , with over 40,000m 2 of production space at its disposal , supplying steel components to various sectors with strict cutting requirements . Of these markets , the wind
