LVD introduces new cobot bending system
Belgian sheet metal specialist, LVD Company NV, has introduced Ricobb, a collaborative cobot bending system that integrates with all LVD press brakes installed since 2001.
“ Developed by LVD Robotic Solutions( LRS), our robotic automation division, Ricobb offers a flexible and cost-effective way for sheetmetalworking companies to boost bending productivity, overcome labour shortages, enable lights-out manufacturing and adapt quickly to shifting production demands. Compact and user-friendly, Ricobb is easily moved, docked and programmed. It can be set up, trained and running in just a few days,” said LVD.
Ricobb is designed as a mobile, highly adaptable cobot. Deployed on a press brake, it takes over the bending of small, simple parts and can be quickly reassigned to another machine as production requirements change.
“ When docked, Ricobb automatically identifies the press brake, so relocation is quick and easy. The cobot delivers consistent, reliable performance and operates autonomously to maximise press brake utilisation. It is easy to program, requiring

minimal training. Its intuitive, icon-driven interface eliminates the need for advanced programming skills. Only pick, bend and regrip positions need to be taught. Ricobb learns through simple, guided instruction and automatically records and replicates the actions,” outlined LVD.
“ Ricobb offers sheet-metalworking companies a cost-effective way to automate repetitive bending tasks. It adds capacity to existing press brakes, without requiring infrastructure changes, and delivers reliable,
efficient performance with a fast return on investment,” it added.
The cobot also offers enhanced flexibility through customisable gripper extensions, tailored to specific applications. A variety of extensions can be created within the cobot’ s payload limits to suit varying production needs.
LVD Robotic Solutions( LRS) was established in 2022, following the acquisition of KUKA Solutions Benelux. Its goal is to make robotic automation more accessible and affordable for manufacturers. LRS develops customised solutions for a wide range of industries and applications from turnkey handling systems to machine tending and material flow optimisation.
LVD is a manufacturer of sheetmetalworking equipment including lasercutting systems; punch presses; press brakes; robotic bending cells; automatic and semiautomatic panel benders; guillotine shears and automation systems, integrated to and supported by its CADMAN ® software suite. n

DIEFFENBACHER wins NEO2025 award
Every year, the Karlsruhe TechnologyRegion in Germany honours promising futureoriented innovations with its NEO Innovation Award. At the NEO2025 award ceremony on 21 November 2025, at the Vollack Group in Karlsruhe, the focus was on artificial intelligence. Among the five nominees, DIEFFENBACHER prevailed with its intelligent digitalisation platform, EVORIS, and won the prize of 20,000 euros.
“ I am delighted and proud that we were recognized among such high-quality competition,” said Jürgen Woll, Vice President Automation, DIEFFENBACHER.“ I am particularly proud of our EVORIS team, which works hard every day to further develop EVORIS to help our customers benefit from the latest advances in AI that can keep them ahead of their competition,” he added.
L-R: On behalf of the entire EVORIS team, Isabelle Bräuer, Jan Bär, Jürgen Woll Manuel Steger and Florian Schleissinger accepted the NEO2025 Innovation Award for DIEFFENBACHER.
The NEO jury of well-known figures from science, business and politics initially selected five finalists from the 36 entries for the innovation award, with EVORIS emerging as the winner.
“ The jury was impressed by our global success with an AI-supported innovation. In challenging economic times, said the jury, this success signals the future viability of mechanical and plant engineering,” DIEFFENBACHER told ISMR.
“ EVORIS is a modular software platform for manufacturer-independent, AI-based digitalisation of machines and complete production plants. Using EVORIS, companies in the forming industries can gain deep insight into their production processes. These insights help them to make even better decisions about their plants,” it added.
EVORIS enables the networking of data, processes and users. It offers analyses for anomaly detection, energy and maintenance management, carbon footprint calculation and other critical plant functions. n
