Inline quality assurance

The IV & WS 512 system.

Nidec SYS GmbH was awarded the prestigious“ Best Award 2025” at the 2025 Blechexpo / Schweisstec trade show for sheet metal working and joining technology. The company received the award for its Inline Vision & Weld System with Marking-on-the-Fly( IV & WS Marking).
“ This fully automated solution integrates inspection, cutting, welding and labelling of punched parts into a single, compact system— setting a new benchmark for inline quality assurance. The IV & WS Marking system combines
Marking on the fly.
Kistler’ s advanced optical inspection and laser marking technologies with our precision wobble laser welding technology, ensuring seamless production even when defective parts are detected,” explained Nidec SYS.
The IV & WS 512 system automatically identifies and removes NOK( nonconforming) parts, then uses laser welding technology to rejoin the punched strip without gaps. This is designed to eliminate manual intervention, reduce downtime and protect surrounding OK parts.
“ The result is a continuous reel of verified, traceable components ready for downstream processing,” outlined Nidec SYS.
A key feature of the latest system version is the Marking-on-the-Fly( MoF) module, capable of labelling up to 1,600 parts per minute with QR codes or barcodes. This ensures full traceability— critical for sectors such as automotive and medical technology— and provides real-time quality data for process optimisation.
Nidec SYS GmbH invests heavily in research and development, with a dedicated R & D team of 13 specialists continuously working to advance precision, automation and innovation in sheet metal processing. Looking ahead, the company is expanding its R & D activities to include stamped grid applications, aiming to further broaden its IV & WS product portfolio and unlock new possibilities for inline quality assurance and smart manufacturing. n

A focus on plasma cutting

The new Neocut range.
GYS, a European manufacturer of welding machinery, has introduced the next evolution of its Neocut plasma cutter range. GYS provides technologically advanced plasmacutting systems for scenarios from light to high-intensity applications, CNC integration and automated systems.
“ With this latest addition of four improved models, the new Neocut line makes the next step in plasma cutting technology to provide high cutting speeds and accuracy. Its new integrated CNC capability allows for both 5- and 14-pin connections that are compatible with all major cutting table brands,” GYS told ISMR.
Made in France, the new Neocut range offers a wider selection of models than the previous generation, now including more portable 45 and 70 A versions in the Neocut 45 and 70. Despite the smaller form-factor, these models still share the same DNA as their 105 and 125 A equivalents, including a new and intuitive 3.5” colour interface.
“ The Neocut 45 and 70 are ideal for workshops and light fabrication applications, with CNC and automation capability. The 45 and 70 can perform clean cuts on steel of thicknesses up to 25mm and have a maximum severance thickness of 30mm and 35mm, respectively. These machines also work on aluminium, with clean cuts on a thickness of up to 18mm and a maximum severance thickness of 20mm and 25mm, respectively,” outlined GYS.
The latest Neocut 105 and 125 are suitable for high-intensity manual and automated cutting in industrial environments, with a 100 % duty cycle up to their peak amperages as well as automatic air pressure management. This feature, said GYS, is effective at extending the life of consumables“ leading to greatly reduced running costs and fewer replacements.”
“ These flagship machines offer high power and absolute consistency, all accessible through the simple user interface,” added GYS.
The new Neocut range also includes builtin analogue and digital CNC connectivity,
with an adjustable voltage divider that can be controlled within the system’ s new interface, so that the machines can expand their capabilities for automated precision CNC table cutting and marking. The added ability to save cutting programs for use in repetitive tasks can also aid in streamlining working processes and removes the need for intermittent human input on larger automated jobs. n www. gys-welding. com
