A comprehensive showcase
“ Here our booth at EuroBLECH explores Hypertherm ® plasma , the versatility of OMAX ® waterjet and the integration of sophisticated software , all designed to enhance productivity and performance in metalworking . We are excited to connect with our valued partners and end users at this year ’ s show ,” explained André Rombouts , Hypertherm Associates ’ regional director for Europe , the Middle East , India and Africa .
“ Together with our partners , we are dedicated to guiding our customers to the ideal industrial cutting solutions tailored to their requirements and optimising their operations with our advanced automated systems ,” he continued .
The manufacturer brought together its technologies under one roof on its booth at the exhibition . This included its new XPR460 ® plasma system , the latest innovation in its XPR ® series equipped with X-Definition ® technology for greater cutting versatility and power . Part of the Powermax SYNC ® plasma series , the new Hypertherm Powermax45 SYNC is designed to simplify operations with a new single-piece consumable cartridge .
“ It decreases operating costs with up to five times longer consumable life than competitors ,” Hypertherm Associates told ISMR .
Hypertherm Associates also showcased
the versatility of its OMAX ® OptiMAX ® and ProtoMAX ® waterjet systems at EuroBLECH . ProtoMAX ® is a compact , self-contained waterjet cutting system designed for prototyping and low- volume cutting .
The manufacturer ’ s software included ProNest ® CAD / CAM software , designed to streamline nesting and improve cutting efficiency in plasma , waterjet and laser cutting operations . It features SureCut™ technology with embedded expertise for XPR and HPR ®

plasma systems . The software aims to maximize productivity and minimize waste .
Hypertherm Associates ’ Robotmaster ® robotic software offers advanced robot programming capabilities to boost automation and productivity in manufacturing . It is used for programming various applications , including cutting , welding and grinding . With embedded plasma and robotic functionality , Robotmaster enables automated welding ( reducing skilled labour requirements ).
“ We are proud of our booth here at EuroBLECH , where we are demonstrating our capabilities and showcasing our global partners . Instead of focusing solely on our

products , we decided to highlight the true cutting experience . For instance , we built a giant version of our XPR460 plasma cutting system , allowing visitors to go inside and experience our cutting technologies , software solutions and get to know Hypertherm Associates ’ story . Additionally , our booth features examples of how our products incorporate sustainability and the optimised use of materials .” outlined André Rombouts .
“ We connect strongly with our partners , so we have also highlighted how we work with them and support them , because we value these relationships . ‘ Shaping Possibilities ’ is our slogan , and we achieve this together with our partners . We work with a huge global network of OEMs and partners , so we can adapt to market requirements quickly and optimise our products . We fully support our end users and partners — these are important relationships for us ,” he added .
The power of plasma
The plasma cutting process , used in the cutting of electrically conductive metals , utilises electrically conductive gas to transfer energy from an electrical power source through a plasma cutting torch to the material being cut . It has long proved to be a flexible and cost-effective method of processing parts . The plasma process can cut aluminium , mild steel , stainless steel and tough wear-resistant materials from 1-60mm thick . Plasma cutting can really shine in some niche applications , such as cutting expanded metal .
“ Plasma is a technology that can be used in various applications and markets ; it has distinct advantages over laser cutting in some areas . Although laser is very high profile in the market , I think that there can often be a mistaken perception that it can cover all bases . That is not true . It is not always the best
