Weld butt-joints in ultra-thin sheets ( e . g . for coilto-coil applications ) pose a challenge for current welding technologies . Dreamweldtech ’ s welding robot can process butt-joints in ultra-thin sheets , ranging from 0.03 to 2.0mm , contingent upon the materials . The company is developing two models ( a semi-automatic and a fully automatic welding robot ) both designed to substantially reduce lost time and lost raw materials .

Nguyen .
Specialising in the manufacture of welding robots and mini / compact metal 3D printing ( WAAM ) robots , Dreamweldtech houses its Research and Development ( R & D ) Centre in Buckingham , UK , and its main factory in Hanoi ,
Vietnam . Plans are in progress to inaugurate a global business office in Texas , USA , by 2024 .
Dr . Nguyen has also identified a gap in the current landscape of metal 3D printing technology and is working on a wire-arc additive manufacturing ( WAAM ) technology development .
“ This initiative introduces modern printing heads , an innovative printing heat source and the latest wire feeding systems utilising tiny wires . This breakthrough enables the printing of ultrathin walls , potentially less than 1mm and even 0.5mm , with exceptional surface accuracy ,” he told ISMR .
He is developing a mini / compact WAAM system tailored for printing biomedical components ( implants / bones ) and electronic parts as an alternative to laser / electron beam , powderbed , additive manufacturing technologies . This also positions the WAAM robot as a solution for educational institutions .
“ It serves as a valuable platform for students to gain hands-on experience and learn about metal 3D printing in a practical and accessible manner ,” added Dr . Nguyen . n
