Strong third quarter for the Prima Group

The Board of Directors of Prima Industrie S . p . A ., a company operating in the high-tech sector of laser systems and sheet-metal processing and electronics components for industrial applications , has approved the Interim Financial Report at 30 / 9 / 2022 .
The Company Executive Chairman , Gianfranco Carbonato , commented : “ Performance in the first nine months of the year confirmed a positive trend within the Group ’ s main markets . In particular , the third quarter of 2022 was the highest ever both in terms of turnover and order acquisition . To date , we therefore confirm the positive trend also for the last part of the year , both in terms of revenues and profitability .
“ The excellent order backlog ( which grew to around 303 million euros as of 31 / 10 / 22 ) also allows us to face 2023 with confidence although , at a macroeconomic and political level , strong instability remains on energy costs and procurement , as well as the Russia-Ukraine conflict ,” he added .
Group turnover , as of 30 / 9 / 2022 , grew by 16.2 % compared to 2021 . It increased in the SEMEA region (+ 22.8 %), in Northern Europe (+ 13.3 %) and in the Americas (+ 22.4 %) but slightly decreased in the APAC region ( -2.7 %).

Its main customers in the SEMEA region were based in Italy ( 19.5 % of consolidated revenues ), Poland and Eastern Europe ( 6.1 % of consolidated revenues ) and Spain and Portugal ( 3.8 % of consolidated revenues ). Main customers in the Northern European region were based in Finland and the Baltic countries ( 7 % of consolidated revenues ), DACH countries ( 5 % of consolidated revenues ) and Benelux ( 4.6 % of consolidated revenues ). Revenues went up in the Americas , with a marked growth in new orders . In the APAC region , revenues decreased by 2.7 % compared to 2021 .

The Group reportedly kept its position in the Chinese market thanks to strong machinery deliveries to the automotive sector ( mainly electric cars ).
During the first nine months of 2022 , Group order acquisition ( including aftersales service ) reached 393.9 million euros , up 14.1 % compared to 30 / 9 / 2021 . The consolidated order backlog ( not including after-sales service ) as of 30 / 9 / 2022 was 285.2 million euros , up from 187.9 million euros on 30 / 09 / 2021 . The backlog further increased to 302.7 million euros as of 31 / 10 / 2022 . n

Young robot integrators prove their talent

Promising young robot integrators from Germany , Taiwan and Poland were top of the table , according to the results of the international championship in robot systems integration , which took place in Luxembourg from 17-20 October 2022 . Eleven teams from as many countries competed and put their robot programming skills to the test for four days . The competition was jointly organised by the educational organisation WorldSkills Luxembourg and the robot manufacturer FANUC , which has been a Global Partner of the organisation since 2018 .

took second place . Third place was secured by the team from Poland . The international championship of young robot integrators is part of the WorldSkills event , which takes place every two years and aims to convince young people all over the world of the benefits of vocational qualifications . In total , more than 1,100 participants from 57 countries and regions took part in 61 competition disciplines at this year ’ s “ WorldSkills Competition 2022 Special Edition ”.
At the WorldSkills Championships , participants were confronted with a practical task from warehousing . They had to programme a robot to operate a miniature conveyor belt at a set frequency , taking different components from a magazine and filling them into containers . At the end of the conveyor belt , the robot removed the filled containers and stacked them on top of each other on a pallet . Winning criteria was not only the speed at which the robot worked , but also low susceptibility to errors in the system .
