New Board of Directors and CEO for Prima Industrie

Prima Industrie ( a global group in the laser systems , sheet-metalworking systems and electronic components for industrial applications sector ) has announced that , following the closing operation by Femto Technologies S . p . A . ( a company whose share capital is indirectly owned by Alpha Private Equity and Peninsula funds ) a new Board of Directors has been elected and a new Chief Executive Officer has been appointed .

Giovanni Negri has also been appointed CEO of Prima Industrie S . p . A . With a degree in Management Engineering and a Master ’ s in Business Administration from the Politecnico di Milano , Negri has been CEO of CMS SpA since November 2018 . CMS SpA ( part of the
SCM Group ) specialises in the production of numerically controlled multi-axis machining centres . He previously held several positions of increasing responsibility in SCM Group , Porsche Consulting and Siemens in Germany and Italy .
The former CEO , Ezio Basso , will remain on the Board of Directors and will actively cooperate with Giovanni Negri on an effective handover in the Group .

New Chair for The Welding Society of Finland

Reetta Verho , DI , IWE , has been appointed The Welding Society of Finland ’ s ( SHY ) Chairman of the Board as of 1 January 2023 .
Verho has acted as Member of the Board since 2012 and as Deputy Chairman for the past five years . Since 2017 , she has also acted as Member of Welding Coordinator Club and Chairman of the Board since 2019 . She also acts as Deputy Member of the Board of SHY Lahti .
Reetta Verho has an IWE degree in welding and solid work experience in the welding field . She has worked for nine years as “ Manager , Welding Service Team ” at Finnish welding specialist , Kemppi Oy .
“ The Welding Society of Finland supports and develops professional expertise and increasing awareness of the welding industry e . g . among young people . SHY enables welding
professionals to network across company boundaries . This is how we develop the welding industry together . I am very happy that my employer , Kemppi , wants to support and develop SHY ’ s operations and contribute to pioneering the industry ,” she said .
The Welding Society of Finland was established in 1949 to promote welding expertise and interactions between professionals in welding , allied processes and NDT .
“ SHY ’ s membership consists of approximately 1,800 welding and thermal spraying professionals and approximately 140 company and community members . The association has 13 local branches . It offers members information , support , events and training ,” added Kemppi . n

Boeing announces new international leaders

Boeing has confirmed that Dr . Brendan Nelson AO will take over as President of Boeing International ( BI ) and lead the company ’ s international strategy and corporate operations . The former Australian diplomat and government minister will succeed Sir Michael Arthur when he retires from Boeing in early 2023 after five decades of service in the public and private sectors , including the past four years at the helm of Boeing International .
Nelson , the second non-U . S . citizen to lead the organisation , will report to Boeing President and CEO , Dave Calhoun , and join the company ’ s executive council . The Australian citizen has been President of Boeing Australia , New Zealand and South Pacific since February 2020 . He will move to London to take up his new role , effective from 12 January 2023 .
Nelson will oversee 20 regional offices in key global markets . His responsibilities will include developing the company ’ s growth and productivity initiatives outside the United States , forming new business and industrial partnerships , overseeing international affairs , enhancing Boeing ’ s local presence and providing global functional support .
Maria Fernandez PSM succeeded Nelson as President of Boeing Australia , New Zealand and South Pacific from 20 December 2022 . She is the senior company leader in the Oceania region and Board Chair of Boeing Australia Holdings . In this role , she coordinates Boeing Australia activities , leads government relations and directs the implementation of the company ’ s strategy to expand its local presence and grow the business .
“ Maria has had a distinguished career with more than 20 years of leadership experience in the Australian national security sector and was the first woman to lead an Australian intelligence agency . She has the ideal background for this position ,” said Nelson . She has held senior executive positions in Australia ’ s departments of Home Affairs , Defence , Immigration and Border Protection , and Education .
