FACE TO FACE

Blechexpo , the EdgeBreaker ® 6000 , is a deburring machine for laser-cut parts . The machine can adjust and calibrate itself logically on minimal information which makes it very easy for operators , and also allows automation . We combine machine , tools , software and handling concepts to provide complete solutions to our customers . We also work with partners on automation options e . g . handling devices etc . and advise customers on the entire process ,” outlined Andreas Hellriegel .
“ We are currently working with partners to fully automate the deburring process with a robot , where the robot needs no teaching or programming . We have already proved this concept with installations in Germany and it not only shortens set-up time considerably but can also be used with smaller part batches ,” he continued .
“ Together with TRUMPF , we have introduced a new coil laser cutting system ,” commented Hellriegel . “ As batches get smaller and smaller , the combination of coil and laser becomes more interesting i . e . material flow and less scrap , thanks to better nesting possibilities . The coil guarantees continuous material flow . We see interesting potential for it in the future .”

Digitalisation and Industry 4.0
Hellriegel also took ISMR through a two-year long project aimed at integrating ARKU machines into existing production environments . He pointed to a growing trend of more manufacturers wishing to integrate machines into larger production lines , rather

than using one-off or stand-alone machines that process parts . Users may choose to put a deburring machine in front of a leveller on a line or connect it with other machines .
The company has developed a standard interface so that ARKU machines can interact with existing production systems / environments , displayed in the TRUMPF smart factory in Ditzingen ( Germany ). “ Our machines can now be set up for Industry 4.0 and for integration with other machines . It is becoming more important for customers to be able to track their machine data and production bottlenecks . They can learn from the data ,
ensure more production efficiencies and get the best use out of their machines . They can also remotely monitor the machines , carry out online surveys , check maintenance etc .,” Hellriegel told ISMR .
“ In January 2022 , we will also start using new ERP software . This will be crucial for the efficiency of our production processes and will generally streamline all our processes . It also prepares us for the challenges of digitalisation and Industry 4.0 .,” he added .
The company is devoting a lot of its energy to digitalisation and service for its customers .
“ We must follow these trends in the market . We therefore have to listen carefully to our customers . That will also be our focus for next year ,” concluded Andreas Hellriegel . n
