CLOOS strengthens management
CLOOS is getting ready for the future by strengthening its management . On 1 November 2021 , Alexander Veidt joined the welding and robotics specialist as Chief Financial Officer ( CFO ). In this role , he is responsible for finance and control , IT , organisation and human resources . In the future , he will lead the globally active company ( with headquarters in Haiger , Germany ) with Stephan Pittner , who joined the management board as Chief Technological Officer ( CTO ) in May 2021 .
Stephan Pittner continues to be responsible for the development areas as well as the Automation business unit . Sieghard Thomas , who has led the company as Chief Executive Officer ( CEO ) since 2016 , will retire from the operational business of Carl Cloos Schweißtechnik GmbH at the end of 2021 . He has worked for CLOOS in various positions and divisions
Fablink Group , a leading British Tier 1 supplier of cabs , pressings , structures and complete vehicle assemblies , has appointed Phil Handley to its Board in the position of non-executive director .
Building on Fablink Group ’ s longstanding position as a market leader in the automotive , off-highway and transport sectors , Handley will play a key advisory role to help ‘ drive continued growth and operational excellence across the Group ’. He will place a particular focus on people , quality and assembly operations .
With its blue-chip customer base of leading OEMs , to which Fablink Group provides manufacturing and engineering services , Handley ’ s appointment at the company follows the recent appointment of fellow industry professional , Steve Hemming , as chief operating officer .
With well over 30 years of experience at several global OEMs , Handley joins Fablink Group from Caterpillar after 18 years of service – nine of which were spent as managing over 47 years with the company .

His extensive industry knowledge and strategic experience saw him attain Six Sigma Master Black Belt level , which will help advance operational excellence and quality across each of the Group ’ s UK-based sites . Fablink Group is known for the supply of pressings and complex welded structures ; cab assemblies ; lightweight bonded aluminium chassis & structures ; mixed material architectures as well as niche and lower volume build for automotive and e-mobility brands . With depth and breadth of operations across six British sites , Fablink Group ’ s 500,000 ft 2 of manufacturing space is home to 700 skilled engineers and production staff . n

At the end of 2019 , he moved to Sensitec GmbH where he was responsible for the commercial area and production as managing director .

New VP of Buehler ITW T & M
Illinois Tool Works ( ITW ), Lake Bluff , Illinois / USA , has appointed Eugenio Calderón as Vice President of Buehler ITW Test & Measurement from 1 February 2021 .
Based at the company ’ s headquarters , Calderon is responsible for Buehler ’ s global business with systems for cutting , embedding , grinding , polishing and analysing material samples , as well as hardness testing systems . Applications range from metals to ceramics and glass to plastics for a variety of key industries including aerospace , automotive and electronics .
The company is a leading manufacturer of instruments , consumables and accessories for metallography and materials analysis and supplies a range of hardness testers and hardness testing systems . n
