FOCUS ON WELDING

Welding in focus
The iWave AC / DC Pro 500i, used by ALLUCAN AG, features advanced technologies such as CycleTIG to enable precision control of the heat input and control over the arc. The RPI auto intelligent ignition function is designed for rapid and reproducible ignition, regardless of the material properties, with no need to manually adjust ignition parameters. Standard; Pulse; PMC( Pulse Multi Control); LSC( Low Spatter Control) and CMT( Cold Metal Transfer) welding packages are available for various welding requirements.
For modern connectivity, the iWave is equipped with common communication standards.
“ ALLUCAN AG’ s welding technicians can quickly and wirelessly connect peripheral devices to the welding machine, such as the high-tech Vizor Connect welding helmet. The helmet, in combination with a fresh air blower, reduces exposure to welding fume by up to 99 %. Our iWave devices can be integrated into the company network via WLAN to carry out firmware updates. The WeldCube Premium welding database is available for seamless documentation of welding data. Intelligent management, statistics and analysis functions( including visualisations) support welding production control,” added Fronius.
A comprehensive user management feature includes an integrated authorisation system to allow ALLUCAN AG managers to define individual access rights for each welding specialist. When the welder logs in with a key card or key fob, the system immediately recognizes his / her corresponding authorisations using NFC( Near Field Communication).
To protect the tungsten electrode during TIG welding, automatic gas post-flow can be activated, with the post-flow time calculated by the software( depending upon the set welding current and electrode diameter). iWave 500i AC / DC Multiprozess PRO welding system from Fronius for MIG / MAG and TIG welding.

Quality and accessibility
When it comes to welding quality, the choice of welding torch and hose pack makes a difference.
In addition to the iWave, ALLUCAN AG uses high-tech torches from Fronius for shielding gas flow. This is essential for uniform gas coverage during welding, because inadequate gas coverage can promote the formation of pores and make the welds susceptible to contamination.
The design of the side wall of the welding torch also plays an important role: a suboptimal shape can cause turbulence in the shielding gas. This leads to insufficient penetration and the formation of so-called
weld flashes( weak points that can impair the structural integrity of the weld seams).
“ Our welding torches are fully leak-tight, enable effective cooling and are characterised by their sidewall design which keeps the arc stable,” explained Fronius.
“ A key criterion for us is component accessibility. Fronius offers welding torches with variable contact tip lengths, which make access to the individual components much easier. This torch length flexibility is hugely important to us because it enables us to produce precise, high-quality welds even in hard-to-reach areas,” added Markus Jäger.
Collaboration with Fronius has propelled ALLUCAN AG forward in aluminium processing. By using iWave welding systems, the company can respond flexibly to its customers’ requirements. The technology and performance of the devices from Fronius play a key role in enabling ALLUCAN AG to offer customised solutions to a variety of sectors.
Markus Jäger concluded:“ Our experience of the services provided by Fronius has been exceptional. We benefit greatly from straightforward and competent communication, combined with quick turnaround times for spare parts procurement. We are therefore highly satisfied and look forward to continuing our successful collaboration.” n
