Punching and laser cutting
Prima Power ’ s Combi Genius offers versatile and flexible punching and laser cutting , combining multiple operations in one machine . It can process maximum sheet thicknesses of 8mm ( aluminium , mild steel and stainless steel ).

“ This Lean Manufacturing style reduces cost per part ; parts are made rapidly , easily and accurately on one machine by one operator using a single operating and programming system . The Combi machine works with numerically controlled , servo-electric axes providing high-speed and energy-efficient operations with low maintenance requirements and production costs ,” explained Prima Power .
A high brilliance fibre laser is integrated into the Combi Genius to process a wide range of materials . A 3- or 4kW Prima Power fibre laser resonator offers manufacturing capacity for a large range of sheet metal products . Prima Power ’ s ECOPUNCH ® concept in the machine has been designed to save energy consumption . The control panel is integrated in the electric cabinet for easy cabinet placement and access to the machine controls . This multitasking control enables work preparation , program background editing and set-up while the machine is running .
23-ton and 30-ton punching force on the machine is standard , depending upon the selected performance ( Pure / Dynamic ). Up to 400 standard or 384 index tools can be simultaneously available in the turret for active use . The turret is compatible with AMADA ® tools .
“ The Punch Laser combination , equipped with servo-electric punching , provides rapid nibbling speeds and the possibility of using low ram speeds when using forming tools or for reducing the noise level with largediameter tools . The fully programmable stroke length offers a variety of possibilities for forming operations . Three models are available : CG1225 , CG1530 and CG1540 ,” confirmed Prima Power . n

Automated CMM inspection
WMH Robotics , a provider of flexible cobot automation , has announced a partnership with Aberlink , a large UK-owned manufacturer of CMMs and metrology solutions . By debuting the partnership at the MACH Exhibition 2024 ( 15-19 April 2024 at the NEC in Birmingham , UK ), WMH Robotics and Aberlink will unveil their integrated solution , combining CMM metrology and collaborative robot automation .
