Easy-Cell bending automation from LVD

LVD Company NV recently launched its Easy-Cell 80 / 25 , the latest in its line of robotic bending cells for automated bending .
“ Easy-Cell offers high flexibility to produce a wide range of parts with the precision of a built-in adaptive bending system which ensures bend angle accuracy from the first part . The robotic bending cell incorporates LVD ’ s advanced software for fast , simple offline programming of both press brake and robot . Users benefit from the productivity of automated bending with high process reliability and low part cost ,” the Belgian sheet metal specialist told ISMR .
Easy-Cell 80 / 25 combines an Easy-Form 80-ton press brake with Kuka industrial robot to handle parts from 100 x 100mm up to 1600 x 1200mm , weighing up to 25kg . The press brake features a 2500mm bend length , fiveaxis back gauge and 2500mm crowning table , providing the versatility to accommodate a broad scope of bending applications .
The cell features multiple robot grippers that can be changed to suit the job . The robot uses a swivel function to optimise workpiece regripping . The swivel movement reduces the time it takes for regripping , improving overall cycle time .
Easy-Cell is equipped with LVD ’ s Easy-Form ® Laser for bend accuracy . Automation with builtin quality assurance provides a high degree of consistency in production , which is especially critical for automated operations .

A lightweight , portable pipe bevelling tool that can bevel and flat-face sanitary tube and pipe simultaneously to help ensure high-integrity weld joints has been introduced by Esco Tool of Holliston , MA ( USA ).
The Esco Wart MILLHOG ® Portable Pipe & Tube Beveller is a right-angle I . D . clamping tool for performing any angle of end prep on 19.1mm I . D . to 114.3mm O . D . sanitary pipe of different schedules . Allowing operators to bevel and flat face simultaneously , it produces square and bevelled ends with a reported ± 0.0254mm accuracy which helps to ensure high-integrity weld joints .
“ Suitable for end prepping sanitary pipe and tubing for fusion or orbital welding , the Esco Wart MILLHOG ® Portable Pipe & Tube Beveller is robust and easy to operate . Available with electric or pneumatic motors , it requires no cutting fluids and is ideal for compensates for material variations such as sheet thickness , strain hardening and grain direction . Scanners continuously measure the bend angle and transmit the information in real-time to the CNC control for immediate adjustment of the punch position to achieve the correct angle . The bending process is not interrupted , says LVD , and no production time is lost .
