Success for TIMTOS 2023

TIMTOS 2023 in Taipei , Taiwan , concluded successfully on 11 March 2023 . It attracted over 45,000 on-site visitors from Taiwan and overseas ( including nearly 6,000 international visitors from more than 100 countries ). Delegations were from Turkey ; Vietnam ; Indonesia ; Spain and Algeria . The top five countries with the highest turnout were Japan ; Malaysia ; India ; South Korea and Thailand .
More than 1,000 exhibitors from 18 countries / regions hosted nearly 6,200 booths across the Taipei Nangang Exhibition Centre Halls 1 & 2 and TWTC Hall 1 from 6-11 March 2023 . Three new themed areas were added in TWTC Hall 1 to feature “ Advanced Metalworking Technology ,” “ Additive Manufacturing ” and “ Future Manufacturing .” TIMTOS also launched two major events : “ ESG action !” and “ ESG in TIMTOS ” that brought together exhibitors

and consulting organisations to provide new insights on carbon neutrality . Among them , “ Dr . Net Zero ” joined senior industry consultants to offer free carbon footprint consultations for show attendees .
The TIMTOS opening ceremony included distinguished guests such as President Tsai Ing-Wen ; Vice Premier Wen-Tsan Cheng ; Director Sandra Oudkirk of the American Institute in Taiwan , Taipei Office ; and TIMTOS organisers , TAITRA and TAMI .
“ TIMTOS 2023 is starting a new chapter for the global machine tool community after the COVID-19 pandemic ,” commented TAITRA Chairman , James Huang . He expressed excitement about the dynamic return of international attendees , including four national pavilions ( USA , Switzerland , Germany and Denmark ) and delegations led by industry associations in India ; Malaysia ; Thailand ; Vietnam ; Japan and Turkey . Huang also pointed out that this year ’ s TIMTOS highlighted ESG trends and their impact on the machine tool industry ’ s transition towards making manufacturing more efficient , smarter and more sustainable . TAMI Chairman , Larry Wei , gave a warm welcome to international visitors at TIMTOS 2023 . Machine tool manufacturers nowadays , he said , are devoted to reducing carbon emissions instead of just reducing costs . The optimisation of equipment and services to achieve net-zero goals will be the key driving force for order growth , he added .
“ Many business deals were made during show hours , with several exhibitors delighted with considerable orders secured on-site . It was the largest trade show ever recorded after Taiwan lifted all its border controls since the COVID-19 outbreak . The online exhibition will continue to run until 6 April 2023 and has already attracted 7,000 visitors from nearly 15 countries ,” the show organisers told ISMR .
“ The line-up of events ; the Future Manufacturing Forum ; ESG Seminars ; Maker Workshop ; Insights Talk ; Marine & Offshore Machinery Seminar and Metalworking Ecosystem Guided Tours accommodated roughly 1,000 attendees . For those unable to attend in person , show highlights were easily accessible through the “ ManufacturersWin Podcast ” and the co-branded online video coverage presented by Modern Machine Shop , “ Media Eye on TIMTOS 2023 ”, which have already enjoyed more than 20,000 views and listens ,” it added .
TIMTOS is scheduled to return in March 2025 . n
