Alicia J . Davis joins U . S . Steel Board of Directors

United States Steel Corporation has confirmed that Alicia J . Davis has been elected to its Board of Directors , effective from 1 March 2023 . Founded in 1901 , United States Steel Corporation is a leading steel producer .
Ms . Davis is Chief Strategy Officer at Lear Corporation , a global automotive supplier of seating and electrical distribution and electronic systems . In this role , she leads the Corporate Strategy group , which helps to develop and drive Lear ’ s global strategy and executes value-enhancing acquisitions , divestitures and strategic investments . From 2018 to 2021 , Ms . Davis progressed through a variety of positions at Lear , including Senior Vice President , Strategy and Corporate Development ; Senior Vice President , Corporate
Alicia J . Davis .
Development and Investor Relations ; and Vice President of Investor Relations .
Before joining Lear Corporation , Ms . Davis was on the faculty at the University of Michigan Law School , where she served as a tenured professor ( a position she still holds via dry appointment ) and the Associate Dean for Strategic Initiatives . She also served as an Associate and later as Counsel at Kirkland & Ellis LLP ; Vice President at Raymond James & Associates and an analyst at Goldman Sachs .
Ms . Davis received a Bachelor ’ s degree in Business Administration from Florida A & M University , a Juris Doctor from Yale Law School and an MBA from Harvard Business School .
U . S . Steel has an annual raw steelmaking capability of 22.4 million net tons . It is headquartered in Pittsburgh , Pennsylvania , with operations across the United States and in Central Europe . n

New CEO for MTC

The Coventry-based centre for advanced manufacturing technologies in the UK , the Manufacturing Technology Centre ( MTC ), has appointed Dr . Graham Hoare , OBE , to succeed Dr Clive Hickman , OBE , as its new CEO . Dr . Hoare brings more than 35 years of senior industrial and commercial experience to the role .
“ Dr . Hickman will retire as CEO of the MTC on 31 March 2023 . As announced last year , he will become Chair of the MTC Board with effect from April ,” confirmed the MTC .
Dr . Hoare is a former Chair of Ford of Britain , having spent two decades with the carmaker in a variety of senior roles . He began his career at Ford as director of powertrain research and advanced engineering at its U . S . headquarters in Dearborn , Michigan . He was also executive director of European powertrain engineering
Danfoss Power Solutions , a leading global supplier of mobile and industrial hydraulics as well as electric powertrain systems has named Carina Christine Skovmøller as director of its Centre for Sustainability , a newly created role . Based in Copenhagen , Skovmøller reports directly to Andreas Schumacher , Senior Director , Centres of Excellence .
Skovmøller and her team will support the organisation in its ESG ( environmental , social and governance ) journey , focusing primarily on sustainability . She will be responsible for driving Danfoss Power Solutions ’ sustainability strategy as part of Danfoss ’ overall 2030 ESG commitment . She will also play a key role in and director of global vehicle evaluation , and , in 2018 , was awarded the OBE for services to the UK motor industry .

for transmissions and driveline at BMW and chief engineer , powertrain engineering , at Land Rover . More recently , he briefly acted as interim CEO of Britishvolt , appointed to secure the future of the business ( which has recently been acquired by Recharge Industries ).

“ I look forward to helping Danfoss Power Solutions apply the 2030 climate goals on a divisional and business-unit level ,” Skovmøller said . “ The development of specific roadmaps will help us to achieve these targets and put us on a path toward a decarbonised and circular product portfolio , ultimately helping us achieve our goal of becoming our customers ’ preferred sustainability partner .”
Skovmøller has more than ten years of experience working in the sustainability field . She joins Danfoss Power Solutions from Syngenta Nordic , where she served
MTC since its creation 12 years ago , said : “ I am delighted to report that the MTC is now a £ 120-million , 900-employee business with operations across the UK , and is supporting businesses large and small , regionally , nationally and internationally . Since its formation , the MTC has had a major impact , not only on the manufacturing industry in the UK but on society , creating jobs and investment for the West Midlands and across the UK . We now have 800 young people pursuing apprenticeships and have attracted more than £ 800 million of inward investment onto the site at Ansty , Coventry , which is well advanced in its contribution to the
UK ’ s net zero target .”
He added ; “ I know that Graham , with his vast experience in the sector , will propel the organisation to the next phase in our ambitions to become an even more integral and resilient member of the UK manufacturing community . I wish him every success in the role .” n

Prior to Syngenta , Skovmøller worked for 13 years in the international building sector at Velux Group , holding various leadership positions that included head of global CSR and sustainability . For the past 11 years , she has served as an adjunct associate professor at the Copenhagen Business School .
Skovmøller holds a Doctorate in Sustainability and Environmental Studies and a Master ’ s degree in Marketing and Economics , both from Copenhagen Business School . She earned her Master ’ s degree in Communications and Journalism and Bachelor ’ s degree in Business Studies from Roskilde University . n
