CIDAN acquires Thalmann Maschinenbau
CIDAN Machinery Group has acquired Swiss long folding specialist , Thalmann Maschinenbau AG . This acquisition adds another brand to its portfolio , which already includes CIDAN , Forstner and nuIT .
“ Thalmann ’ s headquarters in Switzerland will remain the major hub for long folder innovation and production . The 50 Thalmann employees will be joining the CIDAN Machinery Group and remain employed at Frauenfeld . We are committed to building on the strengths of the existing team with the aim of further growing the long folders business within the group ,” CIDAN explained .
The acquisition creates a sheet metal equipment manufacturer / software developer integrating all unit operations from de-coiling to folding ( including long folders ).
CIDAN has long been a supplier to the sheet metal industry . The group operates manufacturing locations in Sweden and Austria and has office locations in several European countries , the United States and China . The headquarters of the company ,
founded in 1907 , is based at Götene , Sweden .
Thalmann Maschinenbau is a long folding specialist , with a strong track record of bringing innovations to the market that are designed for significant efficiency improvements , cost reductions and higher precision / flexibility of the folding process . The company was founded in 1948 and operates from Frauenfeld , Switzerland .

From now on , sheet metal processors
will have one point of contact to purchase a broader range of sheet metal processing equipment software solutions and have one team taking care of service and after sales support . The combination of CIDAN , Forstner , nuIT and Thalmann in one group will offer great opportunities to further integrate a complete sheet metal production line .

Marco Cappello will be remaining active for CIDAN , focusing on long folder customers and distributors / agents . He will strategically support CIDAN and contribute to the growth of the portfolio as well as bring new solutions and benefits to the sheet metal processing industry and building sector .
After three generations of Thalmann in the leadership of the company , Martin Thalmann will leave the company with a positive new chapter in its future . The team in Frauenfeld will be strengthened directly on-site with Gerhard Zech ( Forstner operations manager and CEO , CIDAN Germany ) who becomes the new CEO . n
