Global metal stamping market growth

The global metal stamping market is projected to be worth US $ 250 billion by 2027 at a CAGR of 3.5 %, according to a new report on ResearchAndMarkets . com . It had already reached a value of US $ 198.3 billion in 2021 , it confirmed .
“ Keeping in mind the uncertainties of COVID-19 , we are continuously tracking and evaluating the direct , as well as the indirect , influence of the pandemic on different end-use industries . These insights are included in the report as a major market contributor ,” said the analyst .
“ Metal stamping dies are relatively less expensive to maintain and produce than those used in other processes . The secondary costs , including plating and cleaning , are also cheaper than similar treatments for other metal fabrication processes . Besides this , the high level of automation and the employment of high-end computer-control programs in stamping machines represent major metal stamping market trends ,” it added .
Nowadays , in most manufacturing plants , the entire blanking process is automated and monitored through computers . The data is available on the central server , which helps operators to make necessary decisions in critical situations . Unlike traditionally used
Sheet metal stamped parts in the VW press shop .
metalforming processes , these machines have improved production , lowered costs and created large quantities of identical metal components at the same time .
“ The widespread adoption of the bending process across various industries to improve the stability , durability and quality of products represents the major factor driving growth of the global metal stamping industry . Metal stamping is widely utilised in the aerospace industry to manufacture frames and channels that are used in ultra-lightweight aircraft . In consumer electronics , metal stamping is used to produce the metal frames used in mobile phones , headphones , speakers , gamepads and controllers . Apart from this , with the growing demand for electric and hybrid vehicles , there has been a significant rise in the adoption of hot stamping technology ,” added the analyst .
Metal stamping is widely implemented in the automobile industry to convert sheet metal into exterior and interior parts , such as auto-body panels and various appliance parts . Increasing investments in major automotive hubs ( such as China , Japan and India ) in new production facilities are also expected to escalate the demand for stamped motor parts in the coming years .
“ The development of new materials , such as advanced high-strength steels ( AHSS ), has increased demand for metal stamping , which produces higher contact pressure at the die-blank interface than conventional materials . Leading metal stamping companies are developing technologically advanced stamping methods , such as computeraided design ( CAD ) processes and digital measuring systems that significantly reduce processing time . The introduction of 3D printing technology and additive fabrication , as well as extensive research and development READ ( R & D ) activities , are also contributing to market growth ,” continued the REPORT analyst . n

Accent on digitalisation and automation at CLOOS

Increasing material and supply bottlenecks , the effects of the climate crisis , tougher international competition , the shortage of skilled workers and the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic ; the challenges for German mechanical engineering companies are constantly growing . Despite these demanding general conditions , the CLOOS Group was able to close the 2021 financial year successfully and is back on track for growth . The average annual growth rate of 10 per cent in order intake and turnover has returned to prepandemic levels .
Since 1919 , Carl Cloos Schweisstechnik GmbH ( CLOOS ) has been a specialist in welding technology . More than 800 of its employees all over the world manufacture production solutions in welding and robotic technology for industries such as construction machinery , railway vehicles , automotive and agriculture .
“ We are proud of innovations and further developments in all our product areas ,” said managing director , Stephan Pittner . After the departure of long-time managing director Sieghard Thomas , he has been managing the company since the beginning of the year with Alexander Veidt , who joined CLOOS in
CLOOS managing directors , Stephan Pittner and Alexander Veidt , are optimistic about the future .
November 2021 . “ With many new products , we have again set high standards in manual and automated welding technology ,” he explained .
Last year , the company launched its new QINEO StarT entry-level welding machine series ; developed a new high-end power source for TIG welding with QINEO QuesT ; introduced innovative welding processes for more efficient welding production and repositioned the QIROX robot portfolio for different production requirements . In addition ,
CLOOS successfully launched QIROX Expert Line , a new modular product line for standard automation components in the Chinese market ( which shall now be rolled out worldwide ). Digitisation has been a central topic at CLOOS for many years and is being strongly promoted in development . This starts with individual component identification , offline programming , 3D measurement , automatic operating and production data monitoring and scalable dashboards to preventive maintenance and servicing . An internal digitisation team is continuously developing the C-Gate IoT Platform ; the focus here is on the individual requirements of CLOOS customers .
“ We want to combine our diverse digital solutions into a holistic platform in the coming months ,” added Pittner . “ Our development budget is well above the industry average , with a share of more than eight per cent of turnover , because innovative products are the basis for our success .”
To position itself for the future and further increase the degree of automation and flexibility in production , CLOOS invested heavily in mechanical processing at its headquarters in Haiger last year with new hightech machines . n
