More affluent travelers are opting for mindful experiences over traditional vacations, fueling a wellness revolution.

These days, more travelers are choosing retreat over resort. Instead of a busy vacation sightseeing, people are prioritizing meaningful experiences and slowing down to recharge, reset and reconnect.
“ Luxury travelers are redefining what it means to get away,” says Sebastian Gurevich, general manager of Alila Ventana Big Sur.“ It’ s no longer about where you go or what you have access to, but how a place makes you feel. More and more, guests are seeking space, stillness, nature, and experiences that help them return to themselves.”
Studies back the claim. Wellness tourism is spiking. It’ s at an all-time high as it approaches becoming a trillion-dollar industry. And it’ s more than just healthy meals and spa days; it’ s about looking inward and taking care of yourself on an everyday basis.
