Dan has recipe for success
Dan’s Kitchen has been open at
St Helens for little more than two
months, but it has quickly built a
reputation for fine food in a relaxed
atmosphere.
Owner Dan Maskell gained
experience as a chef both on the
Island and on the mainland before
deciding to take the big step to open
his own restaurant. His wife Carla is
front of house five days a week. He
admits: “I worked in the New Forest
and at Petersfield in Michelin Star
restaurants and learned a lot about
different meats, in preparation and
cuts.
“When we decided to open our own
restaurant it was a bit of a calculated
risk, but we are delighted at the way
things have gone so far. We have
been busy from day one, which is
very pleasing.”
