Support growing
all the time for
The Leverets
‘The Leverets’, the Isle of Wight Foot Beagles (IWFB)
Supporters Club, held their first pre-season Dinner and Dance
on Saturday September 25 at Shanklin Conservative Club.
The evening was a great success and around 100 people
attended, representing the farming community, and the many
supporters of ‘The Leverets’ and IWFB.
“The Leverets have only been going for six months and it is
absolutely incredible the support that has been shown to us”
said Naomi Bellamy – Chairman of ‘The Leverets'. “This was a
great opportunity for some of our supporters to get together
over some fabulous food in a relaxed environment. This was
the first of what we hope will become an annual event.”
A raffle on the evening raised £200, and the auction,
conducted by Anthony Young, caused hilarity and raised a
further £175. The successful bidders for a voucher for two
persons to have a one hour shooting lesson donated by

delighted with their purchases.
The following weekend the younger element of ‘The
Leverets’ came together for a morning at Headhunters.
Thirty nine young people (plus Roger Broomfield and Irenie
Morrison) attended and had a fantastic time, running around
some very muddy woods shooting each other! It was the
first of the activities planned for the younger generation
from the farming community and those with interests in the
countryside. More events are already being planned for the
New Year and details will be available on www.theleverets.
