A special ‘Thank you’ was
given to the volunteers
of VERA - Vectis Road
Allotments, whose work
has transformed our town
over the years, and helped
ameliorate the effect of the
present building work in
progress.
There was a genuine party
atmosphere, helped along
by drinks and nibbles. Some
of the prize-winners seemed
genuinely overwhelmed
to be selected as best, but
would be first in the queue
at the Waitrose opening,
with their vouchers!
As the evening drew to a
close, there was a general
mood to start as early as
