Global reach
for Island
artists
Two open studio weekends scheduled for this
summer will welcome the public in for a look
behind the doors of the Depozitory, a pioneering
group artist studio run by Foal Arts.
Seven resident professional
artists selected to work in this
converted Wesleyan Chapel at
Nelson Street, Ryde, are Nikki
Brown, Laura Hathaway, Joanne
Hummel-Newell, Chris Jenkins,
Sue Paraskeva, Rebecca Robinson
and Abi Wheeler, whose clients and
exhibition venues range from the
Royal Academy London to Calvin
Klein Home New York.
Depozitory Studios will be open
to the public over two weekends in
July and August, which coincides
with the launch of a new online
studio shop.
The events offer a chance to talk
directly with the artists and makers
about their work, and to support
creative businesses by buying or
commissioning one-off pieces.
Visitors will be able to discover
contemporary painting, hand
thrown porcelain, digital print,
abstract collage, textiles and
sculpture - all made by local artists
with a global reach.
This summer Foal Arts have
invited seven guest artists to exhibit
in the top floor gallery.
The Open Studios will run from
July 21-23 and August 25-28, while
the new online shop and website
invite you to remotely peek inside
individual studios and browse
artists’ work.
