Ploughing Match
pulls in the crowds
The crowds turned out for the Memorial Ploughing
Match which was held at New Wolverton Farm,
Shorwell by kind permission of Mr. and Mrs.
Williams.
The organiser of the event, Karen Sheath, said:
“It was the best Memorial Ploughing Match yet. It
was nice to see so many members of the public join
us for the day to watch both the tractor and horse
ploughing. It was also a chance for many family and
friends to once again remember some very much loved
ploughmen who are no longer with us.”
The judges were Robert Bowditch, Philip Hardwill
and Michael Fooks, who travelled all the way from
Taunton, and Sid Brown, Philip Morris, Anthony
Grieve and Andrew Groves from the Isle of Wight.
The prizes were presented by Mr Geoffrey Hughes.
