Celebration
at Kingston
The IW Hunt Christmas Drinks is traditionally held on the
second Sunday in December at different venues each year.
This year, Brian and Catherine Harding generously opened
the ground floor of their beautiful residence, Kingston Manor
near Chale, to around 100 members and friends of the Hunt.
Since acquiring Kingston just over three years ago, Brian and
Catherine have sympathetically restored their lovely home.
The impressive reception hall with its roaring open fire was
soon filled with the sound of chatter and laughter as friends
caught up whilst celebrating the Season with a glass of wine
or soft drink - ably dispensed by Joint Master Malcolm Purcell
and his wife Sandra.
Recently elected Hunt President Sue Payne could be
overheard recalling memories of Hunt meets some years ago
whilst the Manor belonged to the Mew family, well known
for their connection to all forms of hunting life on the Island.
The drawing of the raffle then followed with the myriad
prizes donated by many of those who attended the event for
which organisers Jill Broomfield and Jayne Willett are most
grateful.
