hristmas can be a very expensive time of year,
but by thinking outside the box when it comes to
planning a shopping trip, you could save yourself
a fortune. Rather than heading straight to the high street,
first pay a visit to the auction rooms and uncover hidden
treasures and unusual gift ideas, all at below retail prices.
Jewellery, vintage fashions, toys and collectables are just a
few of the items you can expect to tick off your shopping
list, whilst surprising and delighting the lucky recipients of
your unique and thoughtful presents.
When Christmas has passed and the New Year draws
ever closer, thoughts turn to resolutions and the turning
over of a new leaf. Many people may decide to ‘declutter’
to make room for new things received as Christmas gifts,
whilst others may be inspired to start a new collection.
No matter if you are looking to expand or contract the
contents of your home, Hose Rhodes Dickson Auction
Rooms are here to help. The guidance of our expert
valuers, together with our combination of Modern and
Vintage, and Fine Art and Antique auctions, ensures we
are ready to assist you whether buying, selling, or simply in
need of advice.

Auction report
A
s we approach the end of another successful year
at Hose Rhodes Dickson Auction Rooms, we look
back across twelve months of auction s and events which
have seen us selling a diverse and
eclectic range of lots, including
waxworks and a coffin.
We are very pleased that
our role as auctioneers
is able to assist many
local organisations with
fundraising. 2015 has
seen us conducting charity
auctions for The Isle of Wight
Youth Trust, Earl Mountbatten Hospice
and UKSA, where we were excited to be involved with
the only charity premiere of the new Star Wars movie to
be shown outside London.
We look forward to helping more charities in 2016,
starting in February with the Motor Neurone Disease
Association annual antiques fair at Northwood House.
