ON THE WATER
Chris is one
for the future
Fierce competition that is typical of the racing during the Cowes Week Regatta.
The 2012 Olympics may be in full swing,
but Chris Rashley from St Helens, is a
name to remember when it comes to
future Olympic and World Championship
sailing events.
Chris, the current International Moth
European Champion who is being
supported by the Royal London Yacht
Club and racing under its burgee, has
won the UK International Moth 2012
Grand Prix.
To make his achievements even more
remarkable Chris claimed the title by
beating Jason Belben, the three times
National Champion and ‘Worlds’ runnerup.
Stokes Bay in the Solent was the
setting for the final and it proved
a memorable occasion for Chris
throughout the two days of fierce
competition. He is now turning his
attention to defending his 2011
European title at Lake Garda this month,
which will be run in conjunction with the
World Championships.
