Wolverton folk &
blues fair
A one-day festival of Folk & Blues music, set in the
stunning grounds of Wolverton Manor, Shorwell.
The festival has been gaining momentum each
year and this time takes place on Saturday 13th
May, 11.30am - 8pm. The special guest this year is
Europe’s premier bluesman, Dave Kelly and his Band.
Dave is well known for his 20+ years with The
Blues Band with umpteen band albums and almost
as many solo albums to his name.
As well as the Main Stage, the popular ‘Beer Tent
Acoustic Stage’ will make a welcome return this year
providing a full and varied programme.
Isle of Wight Festival 2017
The Isle of Wight Festival 2017 will take
place on 8th till 11th June.
Steeped in history the award winning
Isle of Wight Festival is famed for
mixing the hottest up and coming acts
with iconic legendary artists. Year after
year, thousands of stylish, free spirited
Festivalgoers come together in a
beautiful location.
The lineup for this year includes Run
DMC, David Guetta, Arcade Fire, Clean
Bandit and Rod Stewart amongst many
more great acts.

Gatcombe & Chillerton
Scarecrow Festival
The award-winning annual scarecrow festival is
running from Saturday 27th May - Sunday 4th
June. Scarecrows to date have included a diverse
range of creations, with something for everyone!
The festival raises money for local causes such
as the upkeep of the village hall, equipment
for the allotment group and the Church at
Gatcombe.
A small committee of local volunteers helps
with the organisation of the festival. For more

Newport quiz walk
and treasure hunt
Join in a self-guided walk celebrating Newport’s
natural and built history on the 5th May, 6pm.
Teams can be made of up to four people.
The start location will be Shide Meadows Centre,
Shide Road, Newport, PO30 1HR (the path next
to National Tyres). The cost of participation is £10
