The Island Savoyards
will be performing their
production of ‘Titanic
the Musical’ at Shanklin
Theatre from April 19 to
22.
Exactly 100 years after
the sinking of the most
famous ship of all time this
performance coincides with
the centenary. ‘Titanic the
Musical’ is a powerful and
dramatic theatre experience,
featuring a large scenic
design, and a cast of more
than 50. It will be one of
the largest musicals staged
on the Island this year.
The story, known by all,
is sympathetically told with
a beautiful musical score
featuring a live 20-piece
orchestra and presented in
spectacular fashion.
Family favourites set for Botanic Gardens
Quantum Theatre is visiting Ventnor
Botanic Gardens in July, with a lively
blend of comedy, music and magic in
two family favourites. They will be
performing Beatrix Potter’s enchanting
‘Tales of Peter Rabbit and Benjamin
Bunny’ and the Shakespeare classic ‘A
Midsummer Night’s Dream’.
The artistic director is Island-born
Michael Whitmore who adapts, writes,
directs and produces all of Quantum’s
output and over the last 20 years has
evolved Quantum’s characteristic style;
pacey and humorous theatre accessible
to all ages.
This summer he has turned his
attention to two delightful tales by
Beatrix potter, ‘The Tales of Peter
Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny’ in

which we follow the exploits of the
two rabbit cousins as they defy their
parents wishes and sneak into Mr
McGregor’s garden…not such a good
idea after all!
Quantum’s Shakespeare offering is
their highly acclaimed version of ‘A
Midsummer Night’s Dream’, set on
that most dangerous of nights when
fairies are abroad, nothing is as it
seems and no mortals are safe in those
bewitched and bewitching woods
outside Athens.
With live music and all your
favourite characters and comedy
situations from both Quantum
productions a trip to Ventnor Botanic
Gardens promises a magical and
enchanting experience for young and
old alike.
Both shows are playing in the New
Zealand Garden at Ventnor Botanic
Gardens on July 26 with ‘The Tales of
Peter Rabbit and Benjamin Bunny’ on
at 2.30pm and ‘A Midsummer Night’s
Dream’ at 7pm.
