Sow runner beans now, plant in modules
or 9 cm pots with two seeds per pot.
Grow in a warm Greenhouse or on a
windowsill. Shade them from bright
sunlight to prevent the leaves scorching
and plant when the danger of frost has
passed.

All kinds of hardy annuals can be sown
in April to fill bare patches, provide cut
flowers and food for foraging insects.
Sow where they are to flower, and thin by
snipping off excess seedlings rather than
pulling them out to avoid disturbing the
remaining seedlings.
